Priest impregnates Pennsylvania teenager (allegedly)
ALLENTOWN, Pa. — A Pennsylvania couple secretly videotaped a Roman Catholic priest having sex with their 18-year-old daughter in the basement of their home and are now suing, saying he got her pregnant.
The lawsuit, filed Thursday in Berks County Court, alleges that the Rev. Luis A. Bonilla Margarito carried on a sexual relationship with the teen while he was the chaplain of Reading Central Catholic High School and she was a senior there.
The girl's parents became suspicious and installed a camera in their basement, where Bonilla and the teen were spending large amounts of time. The camera recorded the couple having sex in November 2009, after she had graduated, according to the suit.
Her parents took the video to the Diocese of Allentown, which removed Bonilla from his dual posts as chaplain and pastor of St. Joseph Church in Reading after he acknowledged an "inappropriate relationship" with the teen, according to a diocesan news release.
Bonilla was sent to a treatment facility, but "continued to have intimate contact with (the teen) during this time period and ultimately impregnated her," the suit said. She recently gave birth to a girl.
Bonilla, 41, has since left the treatment facility and now lives in Norristown. He could not immediately be reached for comment.
"He has no assignment and he has not functioned as a priest since November," diocesan spokesman Matt Kerr said Friday.
The lawsuit seeks punitive damages for breach of fiduciary duty, infliction of emotional distress and gross negligence. It names as defendants Bonilla, the diocese, the high school, Allentown Bishop John O. Barres, and former Bishop Edward Cullen.
The suit was first reported by the Reading Eagle newspaper.

6. if the priest carried on the relationship, for perhaps years,

11. The key word is IF........
But the "case" stems from an illegal video taken of two adults having sex.

5. Do the parents even have standing?
Edited on Sat Aug-28-10 10:55 AM by Bad Thoughts
It was the daughter who had the relationship with the priest. She was an adult, and she was no longer a student when the relationship was uncovered. The parish, the diocese, the RCC can do with Bonilla what they want, but it looks like the parents deserve nothing but sour grapes.

ETA: Standing may not be the correct word. However, I don't think the parents could demonstrate that they are the injured party.

Hey parents: DON'T LET A 41 YEAR OLD MAN SPEND TIME ALONE IN THE BASEMENT WITH YOUR DAUGHTER IF YOU ARE SUSPICIOUS ABOUT THEIR ACTIVITY.

Sorry for the yelling, but Jebus H. Christ - just because he's a priest doesn't mean he doesn't also have a penis.

9. Teen found at apartment of priest her parents sued
Pair said to have moved in months ago, then baby born
Reading Eagle

A priest formerly assigned to Central Catholic High School is evidently living with the 19-year-old former student whose parents have filed a lawsuit claiming that the priest is the father of their daughter's child.

On Friday an Associated Press reporter knocked on the door of the Rev. Luis A. Bonilla Margarito's apartment in Norristown.

A woman answered, identifying herself as the teen named in the lawsuit. She declined to comment. Bonilla was not seen.

David Weldon, a maintenance man at the apartment complex, said the couple moved in together two or three months ago, and that the woman had the baby about six weeks ago ...

Sounds like a consensual relationship to me. The Catholic Church really should allow priests to marry
