Evangelicals' Stealth Mission to Sneak Jesus into Our Public Schools
Having been exposed to several such assemblies during my school years, I am horrified that these things are still allowed to go on.

United Methodist minister David Jenkins was meeting with fellow clergy last year in the small Kansas community of Sharon Springs when one of the pastors made what sounded like a routine request.

The clergyman noted that the Todd Becker Foundation was coming to town, and the evangelical Christian organization, which purports to warn youngsters about the dangers of drunk driving, wanted to line up local religious leaders to help with its presentation.

What struck Jenkins as odd was the venue: It was to take place at Wallace County High School.

Furthermore, the Becker Foundation had a very specific set of duties in mind for the ministers. They would swing into action after students had been offered a chance to become “born again.”

1. If they have "the truth" then why the need to be so underhanded?
As I tell evangelicals all the time regarding their behavior, "do you think jesus would be proud of you?"

5. They have the "truth"; the rest of us don't.
So they need not respect we who live in ignorance of their "truth."

See, it's very simple.

2. their stealth mission has been going on for at least two decades now, and, sadly, they are doing
very well.

look at school board elections, textbook committees, etc.,, etc.

4. A group in our town wants to introduce studying the bible as literature
in public high schools. So far, they haven't made any headway, but they vow not to give up. I don't know if they are affiliated with this group or not. http://www.bibleinschools.net/

3. Their god is such a helpless wimp
Honestly, what's the point of a deity who can't accomplish a single thing without so much human help?

I'm always astonished that they devote so much time and effort to propping him up.

:applause:

To the OP, I contribute to this organization - Freedom From Religion Foundation - http://www.ffrf.org/ Every month or so, they send me a newspaper telling about action they've taken. It's stunning how pervasive pushing Christianity has become!

8. Thanks Crispy
When I have spare cash (which, since my spouse is a law student, doesn't happen often), Americans United is one of the groups that gets my support. I'll have to add FFRF to the list.
