In my opinion, yes.

Edit: spelling.

4. Depends on where you live.
Bible Belt and Utah....

I love how Roseann Barr described Salt Lake City Mormons--- The Amish Mafia.

5. No, it's everywhere.
Does hetero or white privilege have geographic limits?

7. I thought the OP was referring to Christians.
at least that is what I got from "Believer" and the whole C Street set up.

as for white privilege and hetero privilege-- I assume you mean the benefit of the doubt when law enforcement is dealing with them vs. assumed guilt for non-white and homosexual.

13. Difference in treatment by law enforcement is one example among many of
institutional privilege. Here are more examples (specifically geared to white privilege, but you can see how they would translate to other areas of privilege).

14. false analogy
but then this whole thread is a false analogy.

Religion only dominates in Bible Belt areas, and even then probably not in the major cities.

This is a predominately secular nation, still, and very unlikely to change.

15. Would it were true...
This nation was founded on secular principles and by men who were determined to avoid having the Church intertwine itself in the workings of the government. This is indisputable.

However, to claim that this is a predominately secular nation is to ignore the incredible and concerted push in at least the last few decades by those who wish to ensure the privileged place of faith in this country.

If you think this is a predominately secular nation, then I encourage you to openly admit to your coworkers and your superiors that you are a-religious, and then see what happens. In my experience, it leads to some rather disastrous consequences.

10. Yes, as long as you're careful what you mean by "believer."
Fukuyama managed to write something sensical and logical about the matter. Trust.

It's the stuff behind much of the rhetoric in Xian broadcasts, DU, and conservative sites. It's the stuff behind much of what AQ and other Islamist groups write, as well as what you hear coming out of most resistance movements and even NOW.

That it's a surprise is, well, surprising.
