A Very Spiritual & Political Song, a Heart To Heart Gift
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Psh0MsHv73c

This a great song, sung heart to heart.

It has several major themes. I’m interested to know if you might agree that they are:

1) The best leader is one who merely speaks the truth and shows the way, rather than say what he needs to say in a campaign to recruit followers and gain personal power;

2) The lust for power, money and status, and the willingness to gamble to make a quick and easy buck, is ultimately damaging to one’s spiritual health;

3) The tendency to take a hard line in self-righteous posturing is a failure to recognize the truth;

4) Our children need to be free to form their own world view, but they are not free because they are influenced by others, and they grow up not having equal voice and equal opportunity to determine who represents them at the highest level of government;

5) We should not blindly follow political or religious leaders who claim to “serve” us when they actually want power over us.

1. That's a very good song. >sigh< ....and all to true. I think most of
our great leaders in the past actually worked with other people for the good of the people. I don't believe that's true anymore, and the people lose over and over again. We've come full circle and all any of our leaders are interested in is furthering their own careers and to Hell with the rest of the people. Sad. Thanks for posting the song.

4. Thanks. He's been ...
In the mid-eighties he shelved his music, put down his guitar and picked up his pen. As his SoundClick page says, he saw the people being misled and swept away by all the flag-waving, bible thumping and sword rattling, which he saw as ominous signs of the terrible things to come.

I guess he's a "seer," as some would say. But, like most seers, their work isn't recognized while they're living. He's finished his writing, and he wanted to finally record at least some of his songs while he was still able, fearing that he's not long for this world (because his heart is literally broken and failing).

Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you think his work is good stuff.

7. No. I'm just a fan -- and a student.

I discovered his work about almost a year ago, and I think his message has great value. I think it could have a very constructive and progressive impact, because it's very strong in telling it like it is, and yet on the other hand it reminds us that our enemy is often a reflection of our selves.

And by the way, you can listen to all the songs at his SoundClick page.
