2. It's OK by me if they ordain him
solely to run a prison ministry for the rest of his miserable life.

4. They link to four other churches, one in TN, one in OH, and two in TX
http://cityofrefugewc.org/Links.aspx

One link is a myspace space, one is a pair of email addresses, and one is dead

Glory of Christ Community Gospel Church's myspace page gives its Zodiac Sign (Libra) and advertises "Myspace Layouts at Pimp-My-Profile.com"

Church of the Living Water says "Soon after the sixth year anniversary, the congregation of The Church of The Living Water, after much prayer and a leap of faith, purchased its first permanent church building at 731 S. Dickerson Pike in Goodlettsville." According to Google Earth, this is a house

As far as I can tell, they don't link to any national church organization

5. Googling the address "1041 Goss Ave" of "City of Refuge Worship Center" yields
Flamenco Dance Studio
Russman & Son's Funeral Home
S & P Cell Phone Repair

Google Earth suggests the place is a room in an old run-down multi-use building

11. It's possible they rent the space.
Some of my friends in high school went to evangelical churches that rented public school cafeterias for their weekly worship services.

Not having a dedicated church site shouldn't be counted against them.

13. Could be. Based on the WAVE news photo, I'd guess they're holding services in a funeral home

Church ordains registered sex offender as minister

The funeral home sounds like a family business. If I wanted to run a cell-phone repair business, I can't see any reason to run it out of funeral home space, unless I was part of the family and needed some other line of work between funerals. The same applies to dance lessons; why would I run a dance studio out of a funeral home unless I was part of the family? And why run a church out of a funeral home, unless there was some connection? I wonder if "Pastor Randy" presides over ceremonies in the funeral home "chapel" ...

6. Here's another oddity: this barely or non-existent "church," and the "churches" it links
on its website, claim to be GLBT-friendly

The very strange combination ("GLBT-friendly" and "ordains sex offenders") seems to me intended only to provoke controversy and outrage

8. For the record, the Louisville news doesn't identify that as Baptist.

I don't think it is....

10. It doesn't seem to be affiliated with any of the Pentecostal organizations, and of course
the Pentecostals are usually extremely conservative. So I suspect the "Pentecostal" designation here is meaningless
