2. Fascinating.
I think this would be a great fight to sit on the sidelines and watch.

3. Shoddy journalism
- Al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb is an AQ franchise. It is not AQ itself, nor does it speak for AQ any more than your local Burger King's manager speaks for the BK global CEO.

- Even then, AQIM has made no such statements. A private intelligence company called Sterling says they picked up 'chatter' on extremist websites that THEY have attributed to AQIM. AQIM is not bashful about issuing its own press releases, but so far they haven't. Every article you read ultimately cites the same Sterling intelligence report.

- There are over 50,000 Chinese workers in Algeria, AQIM's heartland. They have attacked them before (along with loads of other foreign workers) and will again. AQIM doesn't have to go to China to kill Chinese people. Beijing hasn't shown a lot of concern for the ones AQIM and other groups in Africa have killed so far - they just send more.

But beyond virtually everything it says, that the article seems very factual and non-sensational.

12. I post a lot of religion-related news here. They all have links, like the one
in the OP. I don't necessarily have views on them apart from my views on religion in general. You can get whatever you want from them.

When I want to say something myself and argue, there is no link just my writing, like so:
