2. I like the fact that each one is blessed and made holy by a specially trained ordained minister!
Who knew all it took to make something holy was special training? And for only $29.95 plus S & H!

I clicked on the read more button and they say they give "a part of their net profit to YMCA" but in the next question about the high cost they say their process of blessing the sand is so expensive that they haven't made a profit. ! ! ! !
This is the kind of thing that made Jesus so mad in the temple it wish he was here to smack these guys ! !

12. It has to do with the "Footprints in The Sand" poem.
Edited on Wed Dec-24-08 12:16 AM by elshiva
Footprints in the Sand
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.
This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.
So I said to the Lord,
"You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?"
The Lord replied,
"The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
is when I carried you."
---Mary Stevenson

On Edit: They used to read this in Sunday school a lot at my church. And I even had a plaque with this on it. Of course, I'm an atheist now and I think the sentiment is corny.

15. So, he slaps a verse from Acts on it, and it's okay?
Even though it goes entirely against Christ's teachings? Sheesh, what a crock.

16. But do you get a certificate of authenticity?
With the Jesus sand, you get a certificate of authentic from a specially trained minister proving that it is real Jesus sand and not simply sand they collected from the beach. Call me a skeptic but without a certificate, this could just be a plain old green fabric swatch.

19. Check out the Domain info
This isn't just scammy on the surface -- i.e. How do we know the sand has actually been blessed? -- but also, the sandofchrist.com domain was registered only a few months ago with an address and phone number that are associated with MANY, many scams.

Google the address: "po box 99800" emeryville
Google the phone number: 510-595-2002
Prepare to be amazed at the results!

Here's the registration info for sandofchrist.com from whois.net:

Other scams associated with that address and phone number include www.peanutgallerygifts.com, contact-moneybookers.com, hubfanprotect.com, and too many others to list, but they do each seem to have a different "Organisation" name. The one for sandofchrist.com is "Rock Reagan." That name and others may be actual names lifted from other places online; I found a forum posting at 800notes.com where a woman discovered that her own highly unusual name was being listed as the "Organization" for one of the scam sites!
