Baptist Pastor Arrested with Cocaine to run for County Commission seat in Florida
Black Collar Crime

From staff reports

The Rev. Hugh King pre-filed Thursday to seek the District 3 Escambia County Commission seat held by Marie Young.

King is a former pastor of Greater Union Baptist Church and a member of the board of trustees for the Community Maritime Park.

Young, a Democrat, is seeking re-election. Pensacola resident Judy Cook also has filed to run on the Democratic ticket.

Trustees with the Community Maritime Park could vote today on whether or not to remove King, who pleaded no contest to one count of illegal possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested on April 27 after police reported finding cocaine in his pocket.
