Hoo Boy! (Cloning Jesus)
Edited on Wed Mar-23-05 02:48 PM by YankeyMCC
Watching Outer Limits. I never saw this episode before.

Some xian church is "cloning" Jesus. I guess the premise is they got some DNA from the shroud of turin and used it to fertilize a woman.

(yes yes I know the scientific problems with this but think of the theme)

Now there's a dilemma for fundamentalists. If they could clone Jesus would they?

Perhaps that is what is meant by him returning.

edit: better title

1. One would assume that cloning - the act of duplicating the DNA

into a new organism does not reinculcate the same soul.

So, from a theological point-of-view it is not the same individual.

That is so even physically since Identical twins (or higher order duplicates) are not the same individual either.

2. Maybe that's how we get the Anit-Christ - since they don't
share the same soul.

5. Fundies?
They're so technologically backwards it'd take decades for them to do anything like that. Besides, the colleges that would teach them would also teach evolution. They'd never get past that since evolution, free thought, etc are anti-Christian and leads to the persecution of CHristians.
