The Religious Right can be pretty dumb
Edited on Wed Mar-02-05 11:05 AM by Heaven and Earth
I was protesting out in front of the Supreme Court today in support of Separation of Church and State, and next to us were the religious rightists

There was a man there, with a big cardboard cross, and on the crossbar was written the word "Government"

WTF????

Was he suggesting that government died for our sins? If so, that has to be the biggest sacrilege I have ever seen. I was very offended, and I asked him what he was doing with the cross, and he said he was praying for Godly decisions.

He was like a child, with no understanding of the meaning of the symbol he was using.

our current government?

2. I think he was saying that...
government is shutting out Christianity. Y'know, the myth of the "persecuted" Christian? (Similar to the myth of the "persecuted white male")? Alot of them really believe that this is a "Christian Nation" (and not only is it Christian, it's THEIR kind of Christian)! These poor persecuted Christians, who fear they're going to be fed to the lions, want a Democratic Theology, and they're not above using any means to get it.

7. Send 'em out west
We're at the tail end of a drought, and we've got lots of very hungry cougars that haven't been able to breed because of the shortage of food.

Cougars will do, won't they?

What do you get when you cross a hungry cougar with an efungelical zealot?

I'm sure Rick man-on-dog Santorum will have something to say about it.

14. LOL!
Dang, that is funny but sad. We shouldn't feed them to the lions. If we don't want the fundies, why would the lions?

9. I was thinking that we should tell the brainwashed
"At least you have your heads".

I'd like to see them go somewhere where they'd really be persecuted for "spreading God's word". Like some militant Islamic country, or maybe the tsunami areas where they could get killed. How faithful are they that they will not follow Daniel into the lions' den?

11. They don't understand symbols. Symbolic is the opposite of diabolic.
Does anyone have a link to the post last week that discussed this? The link was about psychology? Anyone? It seems diabolic has to do with parts and symbiolic (sic) with the whole. Adolescents vs. adults.

Seers of parts vs. seers of the whole (forest for the trees)
diabolic vs. symbolic
adolescent vs. adult
sociopaths vs. responsible government

Ahhhhhhhhhhh I cannot Member.

12. Atheists can be pretty dumb too
Like when Yuri Gargarin became the first man in space, and the Soviets triumphantly announced that he had found no god in outer space.

Yes, I could be pretty dumb as an atheist, and I have been as a Christian.

This post, however, specifically addresses extremists who would enforce their religion on everyone else under the guise of redressing "discrimination".
