Kentucky Episcopalians approve unity resolution
http://www.advocate.com/new_news.asp?ID=15273&sd=03/01/05

Episcopalians in the diocese of Kentucky have approved a resolution designed to preserve unity in the aftermath of the ordination of an openly gay bishop.

The diocese also approved eight delegates on Saturday for the next General Convention in 2006 as it wrapped up its two-day annual convention, held at St. Francis in the Fields Church in eastern Jefferson County.

1. This is good, right?
Seems to me. I was hoping that the Good People would stick together and publicly support the Church's anti-discriminatory stand - even in the face of some rather nasty opposition.

I belong to Church of Religious Science, and also visit the local Unitarian-Universalist congregation.

Many of DU friends here are Episcopalian, and they have been feeling some psychic pain over this (along with other friends near my home). All welcomed and celebrated promoting Gene Robinson (my church-title knowledge fails me here), but there is hurt because of those so-called conservative churches that threatened to leave and take funding with them.

As to church titles, I know that Gene Robinson is a bishop, but what does 'V' mean? Doe that refer to a title, because they say, "V. Gene Robinson," or is that just his first name/initial? (Things I'm curious about).

My niece attends an Episcopalian pre-school, and it seems like a neat place.

2. Good for them. And the world moves forward one single step.
