UK campus to host Exodus Youth speaker
Chris Stump knew when he hit puberty that he was attracted to men. Growing up with his mother and her friend, who had three daughters, he had few male role models.
"The male world was mysterious to me," he said.
But, after two years of living as a gay man, he was "set free" from homosexuality. "It was like the Lord took the scales off my eyes."
On Monday, Stump, a University of Kentucky senior from Virginia, will help host a training event, Truth and Tolerance, to inform college students, ministers and other Christians about ways to "befriend or minister to gays without condemning them or compromising their own Christian beliefs."
Stump is the director of Open Door Ministries, a Christian support group for people who struggle with their sexual orientation. The group will team up with the Florida-based Exodus International, which has the same mission, to present the conference at 7 p.m. in UK's Student Center.
