Two loving older cats ages 6 & 8 need a home in Oregon-HELP
My cousin died with no will and I am having to administer his estate. I have an import business and travel 5 months out of the year. He left two cats, both female, both spayed, ages 6 & 8. I have to have a home for them by the end of the month or I will have to take them to the pound. I live in a very small community and cannot find anyone to care for them. Help!! I am willing to deliver them to anyone who would be kind enough to take them.

If you know anyone who could use one or both, please email me ASAP.

6. Here is a copy of the Craigslist posting with pictures of them. Thanks.

They really are sweet cats, just a little confused. They have adjusted well at my house but are still a little shy.

7. that link didn't work for me.
What do they look like? I can ask around, but it's helpful to have some idea.

I would take them in a heartbeat if I could.

It seems to be working fine. Gabby is the 6 year old. She is a small grey and black tabby. Really cute. The other one if Cleo. She is 8 and is a beautiful golden buff and white. They are both very short haired and quite small. They have one bad habit which is eating my plants. Yesterday I started taking them outside with me when I go out in the yard. They loved it. I live in the country so there are lots of birds and other critters and they were like two little kids chasing butterflies and bugs.

Now they are eating my grass outside and leaving my plants alone. Neither is really a lap cat. They love to be petted but don't climb on you much. My cousin was quite disabled for some time and didn't walk well. They do not get under your feet even when it's time to eat. They would be perfect as a companion because they are used to someone who has a hard time getting around. They are really quite patient about their food etc.

Anyway, try the link again. It's working for me. Thank you for trying to help. I'm still making inquiries.

They are both small and short haired. Both are spayed. They are used to living with a disabled person so are wonderful about not getting under your feet even when you have their food bowl in your hands. Both are very loving and like petting and attention but they don't sit in your lap or want to be carried around. It's actually very nice because they are not high maintenance cats. My cousin could not carry them around or walk well so they were raised to be pretty independent (duh, they are cats). Good purrers and love to chase bugs!!!

3. also have you considered craigslist?
are they in the Portland area? There are no-kill shelters there, at least.

4. Check out no kill shelters in Oregon. We have two in my community that
foster dogs and cats out to homes who care for the dogs and cats until they are adopted. This gives the animals a chance to have a home atmosphere while they await permanent homes.

Other no kill shelters have facilities to hold the animals on site.

I googled no kill shelters in Oregon. You may want to refine your search for the area of Oregon you are in.

5. Yes, due to so many people being forced out of their homes, they are overwhelmed. I'm checking all
the ones in Central Oregon now. I did post on craig's list and the local paper. I got a lead on a person that may be willing to foster them from a woman at the Petco store. I'm praying she can help me.
