Online t-shirts, open for biz in Oklahoma!
Hi, fellow DU'ers. I've been away for a bit, but our t-shirt shop is now open for business!
Find original political shirts and other gear at Tulsa Tees!

Peruse our unique and ever-growing collection of humorous and political designs sprung from the minds of our resident, largely liberal brain trust, as well as original Oklahoma centennial and Tulsa designs.

Here's a few designs from the politics section:

Plenty more, and growing -- got a backlog I need to get uploaded. We'd love to see you there!

Tulsa Tees: Political, novelty, and Oklahoma shirts and gifts.
The globe is warmin' up. Wear a t-shirt!

1. Would you explain your designs
Edited on Mon Oct-02-06 03:10 AM by troubleinwinter
"DON'T PUT HILLARY IN THE OVAL OFFICE! WHERE WOULD BILL HAVE SEX?"

And

"IF THERE'S REALLY GLOBAL WARMING, WHERE DOES TEDDY KENNEDY KEEP FINDING ICE?"

They don't seem to belong at DU. But thanks for the lame sales pitch. See ya.

2. Certainly.
I did state upfront that we utilize a largely liberal brain trust. Clearly we have a Republican up our family tree insisting on us putting their designs up for sale! But the other 90% of the designs come from the liberal-minded.

At the moment, our designs are not tending toward the hard-core liberal/progressive, so maybe they are just not to your taste...?

Following that point, DU is a community comprised of many different shades of democrat/liberal folks. I don't think there is one definition of what does or does not belong at DU.

That said, of course we could agree that those two design that you chose to cite don't really belong at DU -- that's why they stay at the shop, and I didn't post those designs above or try to hawk them outright. I also didn't post our guarantee that every design at TulsaTees would be loved and adored by my fellow liberals everywhere, perhaps because that guarantee does not in fact exist. But there are plenty of designs, with more coming, that most folks here might appreciate to some degree. Which is why I made this post to begin with. :)

Thanks for at least checking out the site. I do appreciate the visit.

3. Thanks
Put me in the "the hard-core liberal/progressive" column if it means that I, like many DUers, don't care to patronize a company selling freeperish products sporting snide insults against two Democratic senators and a Democratic ex-president.

I will just go spend my bucks where they will not contribute to a company promoting such dispicable smears.

Yeah, I know, you claim to be a "fellow liberal" (though searching your posts didn't tell me much... only that three of your four posts this year are selling something), but I would expect that a "fellow liberal" would not be willing to sell such ugly freep-style smear gear.

But hey, it's all about the money, right? No sense supporting only the progressive/liberal cause when you can support the other side at the same time?

And your business can use the new slogan: 'SMEAR GEAR'!

4. Who did you actually do a post search on?
First... No, it's not all about the money. You have given me SOME food for thought (amid the diatribe, anyway) regarding: if 90% of our designs are the kinds we would proudly wear, why are we selling the other 10%? I will definitely get with the rest of Tulsa Tees management and discuss.

But in the meantime...

>three of your four posts this year are selling something

Perhaps you searched someone else, since that is false. You got the number correct - I have only had 4 posts in the last year until last night. But I didn't have anything to sell before 3 weeks ago. The forums and archives contain all my posts from the last 12 months:

A couple of posts on "Loveless Unions" and divorce rates here (Nov. 05).
Another on 'intelligent' design (and how we need to use our brains) here (Nov. 05).
And then one on Paul Hackett's awesome smackdown of the smarmy Repub talking head on Hardball here (Aug 06).

That's it. Hardly been in the forums much at all -- but NEVER selling anything.

Thanks!
