LONDON (Reuters) - British singer Amy Winehouse's record label Universal confirmed her death on Saturday.

"We are deeply saddened at the sudden loss of such a gifted musician, artist and performer," the statement read. "Our prayers go out to Amy's family, friends and fans at this difficult time."

*I know what many of you are thinking, but I loved her voice and her style. I'm sorry we'll never hear another song from Amy.:(

8. Aww hell, I didn't say everyone was thinking it.
When I see a story like this, I can just hear some asshole say "there's a shock." It's very predictable, even around here.

4. This is really sad.
She was a very talented girl, and so young. What is it about age 27 that kills off the musicians? Jimi, Janis, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain? It must be hard year.

5. What kills them at 27? Stupidity and drugs.
That was easy.

6. Well, a lot of us were stupid and doing drugs at 27.
I'll leave it at that.

7. And lucky, too. Others weren't as lucky. Most performers
survive long past that age. Some do not. Stupidity and drugs don't kill everyone. We only notice the ones who die.

9. Robert Johnson, too.
Maybe he set a precedent when he went down to the crossroads and that's the year the Devil collects.
