I was a big fan of the British version on BBC, and probably should have known better, but tuned in to the U.S. version on SyFy last night.

1. I thought it was entirely passable if you don't compare it to the original

which is brilliant.

Judging it on its own merits it was totally fine.

People are totally overreacting against it, IMHO.

what a worthless channel. so different than a few years ago.
24/7 of "ghost watching" and worse... maybe a good movie every couple weeks.

7. I dunno. I kind of like "Merlin".

It's a different take on the Arthurian legends. Although, I have to admit I miss the Stargate shows and Battlestar Gallactica.

I saw that sci fi channel was doing it again, but missed it coming on. I want to check it out, trying to keep an open mind, but I can't figure out why they'd take money to remake it when they could have put their money in to a deal with the bbc to make new ones, like dr. who or battlestar gallactica. Why remake?

Thankfully Series 3 of the BBC original starts tomorrow.

The version I saw on siffy the other night was lame, low-budge, and cute.

I liked the story. I liked the characters.

I'm gonna watch a few more eps.

14. OK, I saw it

It wasn't hard to find. The tivo found it on every channel that cable town owns a piece of - scyfi, usa, bravo, oxygen, sleuth (WTF is that?), it is everywhere.

So I watched it in two sittings.

OK, it is hard to let the bbc version go and give this one a fair shake on its own.

I alternated from thinking it was lame, to it's not that bad, to maybe it can be pretty good.

I still don't understand why they did it. Why not put more money in the existing show or put money in to a new idea? h well.

Here's the thing. When it was over I set the tivo to record the second episode next week. So I'm still giving it another day in court. Honestly, I think that if I hadn't seen the bbc original that I would found it interesting enough to set up a series record on tivo, as it is, I only went with the next one episode. We'll see.

Then for some reason they recast two of the
roles and I couldn't stand it.

They only kept the werewolf character.

I'm sure the American version is awful.
