'Monsters’ Director Gareth Edwards to Remake 'Godzilla'

From the Legendary Pictures press release:
“Our plans are to produce the Godzilla that we, as fans, would want to see. We intend to do justice to those essential elements that have allowed this character to remain as pop-culturally relevant for as long as it has.”

This looks very promising. Maybe it's actually closer to happening. Tim Burton would have been the wrong guy for the job. I'd much rather see a director like Edwards at the helm.

2. The question is, who reprises the Raymond Burr character?
The '98 remake was terrible.

3. There still seems to be some question over whether it's a remake or a reboot.
One of the producers has already stated that there will be other monsters in the film, meaning it's not a remake. Depending on the article you read it's being called a remake or a reboot. I tend to think it won't be a direct remake of the original (which is fine...why mess with perfection? ;) ).
