Missing (1982)
Edited on Wed Jun-16-10 09:39 PM by glaeken777
Just finished watching this on Netflix Watch Instantly. What a haunting (and excellent) film. Jack Lemmon had a lot of competition for the Oscar that year, but after seeing this I think he was robbed.

That scene in the Stadium Nacionale where Ed Horman pleads for his son Charles to show himself, while the Pinochet junta and CIA goons standing around him knew Charles was already executed there. Ugh. Heartwrenching... and unfortunately a true story.

1. Pinochet!
I think the US should stop all manipulating in the world and be a good role model.

4. Agree with you, glaeken777. MISSING is a terrific film.
One of Jack Lemon's best performances.

6. Yes. The sad shadow of the film is that it was based on a true account,
one of many, sad to say.

The good part is that the people involved with the film did it in a way that opened a lot of eyes in St. Louis and Dayton.
