3. Of course no one knows for sure
This poll is just to gauge how many DUers think it's more likely than not that he did. Being as the subject of the poll is dead and buried, and we're not an official jury anyway, it really doesn't have any actual effect.

It's just a measurement of the sentiment that people have about the subject. And I hope the answer satisfies those who seek to excuse his behavior based on how good they perceive his music to be.

4. Seems to me that the question is not whether he had inappropriate
contact, but whether that involved molestation. I should think most would think his admission of sharing a bed with children that were not his own is inappropriate contact, but one could believe his denials, nontheless, that there was sexual contact.

Count me in the group that truly does not know which it was; nonetheless, it was inappropriate.

12. Speaking ill of the dead by asking a question?
Why don't you go scold the people cheering on the suicide of of the father of one of his alleged victims?

16. I don't really know much about MJ, although I did like him as an entertainer but
I don't believe that Elizabeth Taylor would/could have been such a close friend and supporter if she thought that he was a pedaphile. So I don't believe that it is true.

17. No one can say either way.
However it's a bit odd that a grown man decides to surround himself with young boys. Most guys if they had the money and fame that MJ had would live more like Hugh Hefner.

21. I don't think he did it.
If you were insanely wealthy, beyond imagine, what's the one thing you really couldn't buy?

A missed childhood.

It doesn't come in a box. You can't order it up on pay per view. Once you've missed it, it's gone forever. Some people don't understand that, and will spend considerable effort to obtain that childhood once again. Michael didn't have one. He was incorporated into an entertainment machine, driven by his father's greed.

Lacking a criminal conviction, I must assume Michael was a victim himself, and that nothing criminally sexual, however bizzare things might appear to you and I, occurred.

It's a shame his father is going to get a single dime from his estate. It appears Michael did not intend for him to do so.

I just find it odd a man with his money and fame would choose to spend his time with pre-teen boys.

18. Absolutely.
Edited on Mon Dec-21-09 12:09 PM by Hell Hath No Fury
Just from what we know to be true -- the overnight visits, the sleeping in the same bed with children and such -- that is inappropriate behavior for an adult man to be having with a child. Period.

Would you think it OK for this man to be sleeping in the same bed with an 11 year old boy?

Or for this man to have children over for sleepovers in his house?

Somehow I suspect that answer would be "not a chance in hell".

Just becasue the "man" involved was Michael Jackson doesn't make it any less inappropriate.

19. Nothing went on. Just sleep and maybe bedtime stories.
As far as the two guys you are posting about, I don't know. Did the 11 year old ask to sleep with them? That was the case with MJ for those of you who don't know. He can't help it that kids always wanted to sleep in his bed and MJ's problem is he was too damn nice and couldn't tell them no.

You people are f'ing idiots to think MJ would molest some kid with cancer.

20. Children doing "sleepovers" with a 40+ year old man --
in his own room IS completely inapproriate, that is the whole point! Jackson was a mentally ill man who was unable to create healthy boundaries between himself and young children.

I doubt any parent would ever allow their child to have a "sleepover" with that guy in that first picture -- but somehow, magically, because he is "Michael Jackson" the inappropriate suddenly beomes OK.

22. The FBI doesn't think so
They investigated him for 10 years and found nothing but a handful of tabloid gossip in addition to 14 jurors finding him not guilty on bogus charges.

This sorry-assed poll should be locked.

25. The FBI?

If Michael had been just an anonymous black man from the streets that no one had ever heard of he probably would have gotten 30 years in prison. Fame, money and cult of personality (emphasis on cult) goes a long way in the criminal justice system.

26. Michael was as much a pedophile as George W. Bush was a champion of the poor
In other words, Michael never did what they accused him of.

Let it rest. There was never anything to any of those accusations.
Nothing but greedy people taking advantage of someone who showed them kindness.
