Chistoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds) replaces Nicholas Cage in Green Hornet.
A week after Nicolas Cage reportedly dropped out of Seth Rogen's upcoming Green Hornet movie, Deadline Hollywood reports that Inglourious Basterds star Christoph Waltz will take over the role of the villainous gangster; Den of Geek, meanwhile, hints that the film, which is currently shooting for a summer 2010 release, may be pushed back to the end of the year.

This makes the movie infinitely more appealing!

1. The only thing that isn't appealing about this film? Seth Rogen.
I love his stuff but if they're trying to play this as a serious movie I just don't see it. Seen him in too many zany comedies to see him as a superhero. Then again, Michael Keaton pulled off Batman pretty well.

2. I don't think they're intending on playing it serious.

Kevin Smith was the original person who was going to do this, then it was Stephen Chow's project for awhile (he was also going to play Kato), and now Seth Rogen has it. None of these guys make what I would call serious flicks. :)

It'll probably be pretty close to the tv show, which was basically just Batman and Robin with a Robin that was cool.
