The Silenced Truth (warning MJ haters - not for you)
WHO WAS HE?

...

In spite of having been honored with awards for his charitable committments on a number of associated events, including with two distinctive Nobel Peace Prize nominations (in 1998 and 2003), Michael Jackson remains poorly portrayed as a significant advocate for peace, and faintly known in the philantropy sphere. Due to scarce media coverage, the preference for one-sided, judgemental journalistic approaches, and the focus upon often dismissed, distorted or purely fictitious tabloid stories, misrepresentations and injurious comments made against the singer, his lifestyle, physical appearance, mental health or personal beliefs over the past 25 years, as well as a result of other numerous battles, his charitable achievements have been surrounded by a mist of neglect and lack of sheer interest.

Consequently, we will be further unveiling and/or remembering some of the achievements creating the dedicated humanitarian life of late Michael Jackson as it was.

1. Or perhaps...
His philanthropy was something he did privately and did not feel he wanted to publicize it/wear it on his sleeve?

2. Likely. However, since the tabloids liked to smear him with vile, repulsive dirt...
....it's important to point out - including his humanitarian work and philanthropy - how UNTRUE their caricature of him was.

AND - if this work is to be continued, as it should be - it first has to be KNOWN.

5. "Cry" chorus: "You can change the world (I can't do it by myself)
...
You can touch the sky (It's gonna take somebody's help)
You're the chosen one (I'm gonna need some kind of sign)
If we all cry at the same time tonight"

We have to all cry at the same time. TOGETHER - to make the change.

I don't think MJ wanted this to be too much of a secret. He wanted to change and heal the world. He ASKED us for help.

3. I'm happy to see this.
My own feeling is that Michael suffered a great deal in his personal life and the media vultures cared only about fanning the flames of any whisper of scandal. I hope this site gets wide coverage and appreciation.

6. ME TOO! I was very happy to see it. Considered doing it myself but found this site
...sent them an email of appreciation.

This is VERY IMPORTANT work they're doing, IMO.

4. "This is it" shows not about MJ, said MJ...
Edited on Thu Jul-30-09 02:16 PM by Triana
"It almost sounds crazy to say that the show („This Is It”) wasn't about him, but ... he'd put it in perspective all the time, saying, 'This is what we're here for, to spread a message of love and taking care of the planet, that we want people to understand it's very, very dear and not to take it for granted.'"

< Dorian Holley, Michael Jackson’s vocal director for the „This Is It” London concerts >

7. Just for the record,

anybody can be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize, even me. Winning is another matter entirely.

8. Ooookay. No one mentioned that in the OP or subsequent replies...
..though I realize it's mentioned on the referenced site. I believe nomination rules also state that a person nominated has to be living and MJ is no longer living.

As the OP, I will clearly state here and now that my primary objective in posting a link to that site was to put some semblance of truth out there about what type of man MJ really was as opposed to the vile, vicious tabloid crap constantly being peddled for profit -- and MORE importantly about seeing his humanitarian work recognized and therefore continued. I believe he'd have wanted that, regardless of any prize or recognition.
