I thought it might be fun to maybe find some video clips of variety shows in the past and showcase some of the most legendary talents to ever cross the American cultural landscape. in many ways, I believe that who we are as a nation is very attached to who we were in the past - and it's important for people of all ages to get the opportunity to get a glimpse of entertainment through the ages.
So. . .in that spirit, I thought I would introduce a wonderful clip from early 1969, featuring a very young Diana Ross hosting the Hollywood Palace with The Supremes. . .and the legendary Ethel Waters guest starring. . .and the first clip is the opening act with the Supremes and a..well, very strange novelty dance act!
