Heroes: Villians
What's your take on the third season's opener?

1. More of the same.

That's a good thing though. Only thing worrying me is that it's going to turn into a boring good vs evil story with these new villains - it's been very good at having deeper characters than that in the first couple years. But we'll see.

2. True.
I hope this turns out to be much better than the really bad second season.

3. They need to get rid of some of the older characters before bringing in new ones
It's going to get too messy to follow all the subplots, which are obscuring the central plot (is there a central plot anymore?). The writers need to be very careful.

4. Re-doing Auden's poem September 1, 1939 was poorly done.
The Indian guy's narrative that included some of the phrases from the Auden poem was poorly done because it took the carefully crafted poem and turned it into an over-verbilized monstrocity.

It was really hard to follow his narrative.

Here's a link to the famous Auden poem:

5. I don't recall that, just the Yeats poem
http://www.online-literature.com/yeats/780/

TURNING and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

6. Yes, that's correct it was Yeats' Second Coming not Auden. Thanks for correction!

7. For some reason, I wasn't really engaged
It wasn't bad or anything--it's just that I wasn't very into it. Not sure why. :shrug:

Oh--and Mohinder should get with the program--anybody who's ever watched a sci fi movie or read a superhero comic already knows that you don't inject yourself with ANYthing, and if you do, you're gonna go all gooey in record time! Shuh! :D

11. Yeah, I can't believe I didn't catch that.
My niece pointed it out, while my brother walked around mumbling "BrundleFly! BrundleFly!"
