4. I thought that the Earthlings would be launching missiles
at all of these weird UFOs that just dropped into orbit. Either that, or they'd run into this mysterious blue telephone box hovering around. But I KNEW that this wouldn't end well. And we STILL don't know who #5 is! A clue - Deanna said that the four were "in your fleet". I'm taking that to mean that #5 was with the group on the Base Star.

BTW, what city was that supposed to be? I thought that it might be New York. The "Temple of Aurora" looked somewhat familiar.

5. I kept thinking it was London for some reason
Maybe it reminded me of post-WWII photos.

All I know about the identify of #5 is that they are NOT in this photo:

...the writers promised that the last secret Cylon wasn't in it.

6. I think I know where it's supposed to be
The Adler Planetarium in Chicago. I was there last summer, but I can't find my pictures. It has a dome, has the 12 Zodiac signs around it, and the pointy thing is the sundial.

and and overhead shot:

7. Same reaction here
When I heard the ticks from the Geiger counter, I strongly suspected that they were going to find a post-nuclear-war Earth.

The question is, is this in our future, or is it from some conjectural remote past civilization about which we now know nothing?

When's the next/last ep?

Fifth Cylon: Bill Adama, or Laura Roslin, or Lee Adama, or Kara Thrace, or Gaius Baltar, or Felix Gaeta. The first three because of their being leaders. The last three because all of them had a Cylon connection -- Thrace found Earth, Baltar had those visions and is possessed by the same Cylon whom Tigh impregnated, and Gaeta has a music connection and is analogous to Tori. (And by the way, isn't Alessandro Juliani an excellent singer?) All three have also heard Cylon music.

Or maybe Tom Zarek.

Could be Nicky Tyrol or Hera Agathon, too. Or are they, technically, hybrids?

That's the whole cast who's not a known Cylon, right?

13. I'm pretty sure that it's in our future
The song that four of the final five were hearing was by Bob Dylan, and a futuristic remake of it at that.

Another thing that's occurred to me: Hera isn't technically a hybrid, is she? Chief Tyrol turned out to be one of the Cylons. Hera would seem to be a 'natural born' Cylon, which is probably just as rare.

14. Remember Tyrols Wife Callie gave natural birth to their son who apparently is
also a born hybrid like Hera.

And she's only been doing it with Colonel Tigh, a Cylon.
I thought they couldn't do that.

I'd guess they're taking the whole "fundamentally" thing seriously.

8. Best Show on Cable

The story, the writing, acting, special effects. I've been really looking forward to Fridays to watch it.

Now Fridays will lose their meaning for me until it is back on :( Oh well.

I totally enjoyed leaving Reality for an hour to immerse myself into this fictional drama.

24. The effects
are done with Lightwave, by the way, which retails at around $900. That may seem like a lot, until you realize application suites such as 3D Studio and Maya (several thousands of dollars apiece, with Autodesk owning both properties, and Maya's fullest version retailing at $5K) are much more expensive.

Galactica's CG effects arme some of the best I've ever seen on television from a purely technical standpoint. Everything is done a great deal better than series of the past, such as Charmed, Buffy, or anything Star Trek.

10. It looks like they found earth after nuclear WWIII.
They always surprise you don't they. Maybe they'll just go back to Caprica, which in spite of a nuclear war, appeared to be in better shape than earth. However, I think there will be some different twists there. Remember when the hybrid told Starbuck that she would lead them to destruction, maybe it was it the fulfillment of that prophecy. I understand that Lucy Lawless (Deanna) has only one more show, so she probably gets killed by someone and that should lead to a plot twist.

11. My idea for the ending was that Earth had developed parallel but different myths
about the 12 colonies returning followed in hot pursuit by a robot race bent on destroying all humans, and so, Earth leaders--who were considered a bit loony by some, but had gained power perhaps by creating jobs in the war materials industry--had built strong defenses into the outer solar system, against these unlucky and bad news--and, many thought, mythical--12 colonies. The last dregs of the 12 colonies show up in the outer solar system, all joyful that they have arrived at Earth, at last; Earth's defense system is triggered, and Galactica and its flotilla get blown all to hell.

The Cylons then destroy almost everything on Earth but are intrigued by the Vatican, and spare it while they investigate its art work, its archives and interrogate the Pope (a saintly man)--and, then, in a fit or remorse, convert to Catholicism, and vow to undertake a Crusade to liberate the Universe from the Infidel. (The Vatican turns out to have a lot of hidden clues as to where the devil-like critters who don't believe that Jesus was born of a virgin reside, in other parts of the Galaxy.)

-----

Ha, ha.

-----

If the 12 colonies have myths about Earth, then Earthlings would likely have myths about them as well.

12. I think I figured out where this is going.
It's the hybrids like Hera and Nicky that are going to rebuild and repopulate earth. Remember on Caprica the Cylons were immune to the radiation. Also, it seems that the head Cylon wanted both the humans and Cylons to find earth together. So I think the idea is that they have to mate and marry to give birth to immune human/Cylon children who can withstand the radiation. So that first generation will all die once they reproduce but the children will live on. The only problem is that they are only recreating once species. Earth we all know needs all it's diversity in species to provide a livable planet. Oh well, I'm probably wrong anyway.

18. No doubt it was a tribute to "Planet Of The Apes".
Edited on Sun Jun-15-08 09:40 PM by Cleita
They have done several such tributes through the series to other Sci-Fi icons. However, I think they will have an original outcome.
