Anyone remember a book

from the late 70's?

The premise: A story about how radiation kills a community and there is a one person left, she lives in this town pilfering what is left and one day finds that someone in a hazmat suit has detected her.

It's a far fetch, but does anyone remember know this book/story?

that I received my book from amazon today! I am so excited, it's cold and rainy this weekend perfect for cracking open this book!

7. the book was also made into a BBC movie in 1984 and can

be found broken down into 8 or so parts on youtube.
