1. I have not read the book, but
I was there for Mr. Korten's presentation at Trinity Church here in NYC back in January. I thought it was fantastic.

Watch it here

3. I've read two of his other books, which I thought were very good.
"When Corporations Rule the World" should be required reading. I didn't know he had a new book out. Thanks for the heads up. I hope you post your thoughts on the book after reading it.

5. Read it
Liked it and his other books very much. His analysis of the flaws of the capitalist system is trenchant, and his arguments in this book are very direct and very readable. His discussion of a viable alternative economic structure is both logical and appealing.....if probably not all THAT likely in this strange and twisted world. I liked his other books, but they are much more detailed. This one is much more direct, and much more readable. I'm tempted to say "easier" but it's not so much that it's an "easy" read, but that it's VERY accessible. Excellent read. And PS, interestingly I have/had (she's dead now) a relative who worked in his parents' store in Longview, Washington, and what he says about the ethics of his parents in operating their business rings VERY true. His argument that local is more sustainable is powerful.
