Wanted: Liberals Who Read.
Edited on Thu Apr-09-09 07:23 PM by MannyGoldstein
Anyone interested in starting a Liberal book club? I'm thinking that it would be fun to read books and compare notes with unabashed Liberals like me. It would be low key - we could read a chapter or two a week of books like:

http://www.amazon.com/Crunch-Squeezed-Unsolved-Economic-Mysteries/dp/1576754774/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1239322326&sr=8-4">Crunch: Why Do I Feel So Squeezed? (And Other Unsolved Economic Mysteries) by Jared Bernstein

http://www.amazon.com/Return-Depression-Economics-Crisis-2008/dp/0393071014/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1239322454&sr=1-1">The Return of Depression Economics and the Crisis of 2008 by Paul Krugman

or classics available from the library, like:

http://www.amazon.com/Rules-Radicals-Saul-Alinsky/dp/0679721134/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1239322545&sr=1-1">Rules for Radicals by Sol Alinsky

http://www.amazon.com/Testament-Hope-Essential-Writings-Speeches/dp/0060646918/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1239322623&sr=1-2">A Testament of Hope: The Essential Writings and Speeches of Martin Luther King, Jr. (Paperback)

And things like that.

Anyone interested in trying this as an experiment? Reply below or PM me.

1. Might be, if my library has them all
Right now I'm reading We Can Have Peace in the Holy Land by Jimmy Carter. So far, so good.

I have "Crunch" sitting on my book shelf waiting to be read. And Paul Krugman if one of my heroes. I'm not familiar with the others, but I am reading Fareed Zakariahs' new book right now. Include me if it goes.
