where do you like to read?
I usually just lay in bed or on my bed or on the sofa. Do you have a favorite place or maybe a special reading chair?

1. In bed
This time of year I like to read in bed under my down comforter.

When it's warm weather I prefer reading out on the patio, laying on the chaise lounge.

3. For The Last Seven Years
(has this nightmare really been going on for 7 years already)I have done all my reading at the computer looking for some kind of sense of this madness. But, I used to love to read outside in the backyard.

11. You and a lot of other people
I work in a public library, and actually caught one of our 6-year-old regulars walking out of the toilet with a book. She was still reading it as she left.

5. I have a chair where I usually do my reading.
Good light, some nearby table space, footstool, etc. This is serious business, after all ...

6. There is only one place I'm able to read
and that's on the railroad on my long way commute to and from work.
The only times this was a problem were when I was reading Dave Barry books and could not stop laughing out loud.
And whenever I'm in a public place where I try to suppress laughing, it only makes me laugh more!
At home there are too many interruptions.

7. varies by season/weather
Warm weather - on my deck overlooking the backyard woods.
Cooler weather - on the loveseat by the fireplace.
Coldest nights - in bed, under a down comforter and a handmade quilt.

10. I "read" a lot of books on CD on my way to work and back because
I have too many distractions once I get home. But when I'm on vacation three or four times a year, I read (actual books) from morning till night. Also I cook, which I never get to do at home (don't ask). I'm a reading cooking fool on vacations! :)

12. Same as you, for the most part
I have my corner of the couch in the family room, then we always read in bed for at least 30 minutes or maybe an hour before we fall asleep.

And I always have a book with me wherever I go. I'm always early to doctor's appointments, etc., so I just whip out my book and read. :)

13. Anywhere, especially the bus,,,
Edited on Fri Feb-23-07 01:13 PM by niccolos_smile

but sometimes it's hard to read on the bus, because I'm such a people watcher, and the bus, like the mall, grocery store, etc., is a great place to just watch all kinds of people.

14. On a park bench in Jackson Square in New Orleans
Almost always peaceful. When I'm down there by myself, I usually pick up a New York Times, a Cafe Au Lait and enjoy a nice reading respit. At home its almost always in bed or in my wooden rocker out in the garage.

15. Anywhere ..
I have a reading chair, also at my computer, while I eat alone, in bed, in the car when not driving, at my computer, sometimes restaurants, the book store. I read most online, but have some fascinating books in progress. I'm usually reading more than one book at a time.

17. Everywhere but behind the wheel! My favorite place is one particular
chair in the living room; it's oversized and comfy and there is plenty of room for a pillow and I can curl up with a blanket and a basket of books fresh from the library and be happy as a lark for days...

My dream is to someday get 'accidentally' locked in at Barnes and Noble...wouldn't that rock? You'd have it all...food, coffee, comfy chairs, and all the reading material you could get your hands on...what fun!

18. In order of preferance
according to mood:

In bed (between about 10:00 pm -- 1:00 am

In the tubby (especially on a stormy, cold day)

In the recliner in front of my computer and bookcases

Used to be the porcelain throne but, these days, the 'roids don't like it so much (I know, I know, too much information...yet it remains true, sadly enough...)

19. Outside, in a corner of the front yard under a very old apricot tree
I usually read indoors. But under that old tree with the gnarled trunk is my favorite spot.
