1. The First Casulty...
The full name of the book is "The First Casulty From the Crimea to Vietnam: The War Correspondent as Hero, Propagandist, and Myth Maker". I contend this is a good book because it can allow us to see that throughout history governments have tried to censor journalism during war time. It may also allow us to compare people like Judith Miller to war correspondents of the past and ask they are willing to write what they write. Also it may help us discuss how we stop electing leaders that try to censor news and mislead the people. I have an old edition that may be hard to find except in libraries. There is a newer edition which extends all the way to the Iraq war.

This book is timeless. A good primer of where we've been & how to get back on track.

8. Reading "The Case for Hillary"
by Susan Estrich

So far chock full of the insider political tid-bits that our type loves.

I think it would be a great discussion book.

Hi, I just checked out the guidelines and I'd love to do the Book Club. I'm reading "Our Endangered Values" now and I'd like to second that nomination.
