Brentspeak's Non-Fiction Pick of the Week
"Christ: A Crisis In the Life of God", by Jack Miles. (2001, Knopf)

Examines the New Testament purely from a literary point-of-view (ie. as a story, with characters and a plot). Impossible to look at Christianity or the Bible the same way again after reading this book. This book is Miles' sequel to "God: A Biography", which won the 1996 Pulitzer for Biography.
