The Republican War on Science is a must read
Edited on Wed Sep-14-05 09:56 AM by Hamlette
I'm also reading With God on Their Side. I tell you, I can't decide whether to kill myself or join the NRA and start a revolultion.

The republican war on science is totally scary stuff. Not so much what they have done to America but the calculated way they went about it. First convincing Americans that liberals used "junk science" then convincing everyone that there are two kinds of science, "good" science and junk science and that the GOP has the lock on "good" science which, as you might have guessed, is junk science.

I'm not done with either book. They are both so depressing. I find my mind wandering to conversations with every Bush supporter I know: "No, I don't hate Bush" I tell them in my mind "Bush is a hapless shell chosen by the powers that be to destroy and plunder my country. The people I hate are every single person who voted for Bush in 2004. Its understandable how you might have been fooled in 2000 but by 2004 you knew, if you wanted to, that he is the most amoral, unchristian prez we have ever had."

edited to add this link to the Salon review. I tell you, this is what happens when you let religion into government. People become irrational.

1. Thanks for the review!
Please consider nominating one of the titles for the non-fiction book club for October.
