...if you haven't already, get a copy of "Three Nights in August" by Buzz Bissinger.

It takes place during a three-game series between the Cards and the Cubs in August 2003, when the race for the NL Central was deadlocked between the Cubs, Cards and Astros.

He really takes you inside the head of La Russa and how he runs a game, series and season. Amazing stuff. I started it Friday and am already about half way through.

If you want to get 'inside the game' with one of the best managers ever, you'll love it. :thumbsup:

a baseball fan, but I did enjoy Doris Kearns Goodwin's "Wait Till Next Year."
