Alfred Bester.

Alfred Fucking Bester. Yes, I had to say that. The man only wrote a handful of books, but all of them blow me away in varying degrees. I dare to say that it's like staring into the sun, he impresses me that much. I am grateful to the local library system for having most of them!

Edit: A few months ago I posted about his non-science fiction book "Tender Loving Rage" and was dismayed at some racist comments. I didn't know if they were the author's or the character's, but the book I'm on now, Computer Connection, shows that they were the characters' only.

Don't miss "Psycho Shop"; the first half blazes with creativity.

1. I know the name, but I've never read any of his books
maybe a short story. I am not sure if I have any of his books in my collection either, but probably.

2. The Demolished Man. The Stars My Destination.
Two groundbreakers. Two of my all-time fave Sci-Fi books. Especially "Stars." I never got around to reading any of his other works - should look him up and hunt them up, maybe. Thanks for the reminder.

3. Both Are Old Favorites Of Mine, Ma'am, as Well
Something well-grounded and gritty about the intelligence behind them.
