John Steinbeck!
I just bought

East of Eden

The Winter of Our Discontent

Travels with Charley

and

Tortilla Flat

I think I now have in my personal collection most of his work. Libraries are fine , but I love owning good books. Some call it obsession

A less well-known work, but a must for the Steinbeck reader.

4. Every summer I choose an author to re read....
About five years ago, it was Steinbeck and what a great summer of reading it was that year. This year, I am rereading Kurt Vonnegut..so, this summer is going to be a good one too. I do love Steinbeck!

12. The Moon Is Down-
I picked this book up at our dump- (we have a put&take that has some really wonderful stuff) late this winter and read it for the first time. I'd never heard of it, it was a quick excellent read. Have you read this?

13. no, but I will!
Put and take sounds like a wonderful idea !Sorry to say , but it would never catch on here in Fundy / Republican heaven

and even if it did the books would be beyond interesting if one REALLY loves Sara Palin.

14. I and the boys
Think these are some real fine books. We'd be reading them here at the Palace if any of us could read more than our names.
