Can someone please explain how Max Cleland lost ?
I knew that something wasn't right when Max Cleland lost his bid for re-election.

Do you know if their is a way to go back and look at the voting systems during the 2002 election or has the hard drives been destroyed.

If we compared 2002 to 2004 would we be able to show a pattern of what happened and why is has to be stopped.

Was diebold used in all of the counties that won in 2002?

2. You answerd the question
yourself, DIEBOLD

That is how he lost, that is how Cinthia McKinney also lost

This is why FACING the machines is so critical for this democracy... or whatever remains of it that is

8. Diebold alone doesn't explain McKinney's fortunes
Cynthia McKinney lost in the 2002 primary because there was nothing important for Republicans in her district to vote on. So they requested Democratic ballots and voted for Denise Majette in droves. It may happen again in 2006 if McKinney has a challenger in the primary.

Of course, it's entirely possible that the machines were programmed, or hacked, to take a few percentage points away from McKinney. Even if that's the case, she won this time around.

3. Yes
2002 was the first year that Diebold was used in GA.
Not only was he polling way ahead of media whore Chambliss, but our Gov. Roy Barnes was way ahead of Bubba, who currently resides in the governor's mansion. Needless to say, both Dems lost that election.

I'm convinced that the GOP started stealing the South quietly, during that election and thought no one would be the wiser. Just have everyone thinking that the south was rapidly turning red. Now don't get me wrong, these people here are too scary for words, but I really don't think we lost that election......

15. My family were from the south
Something is wrong with the Red vs Blue States. I don't think that they are voting for Republicans as much as we are being led to believe.

If they make it seem like it's the truth then they can steal elections and no one will ever notice.

When you look at a map it is very hard to believe that their are so many Republicans concentrated in one area. The southern states are poorer then the rest of us.

The South relied on factories and the coal mines. They are gone now so how can they all be saying lets reelect a party that doesn't represent us.

11. And in Nebraska
Republican Senator candidate Chuck Hagel, who was a partner in ES&S, beat popular democrat Ben Nelson in what a local newspaper called "an amazing victory" during the late 90s.
The votes were counted by ES&S.

10. GOP has a superior GOTV effort in the red states.
That's just plain fact. Red state Dems should be ashamed that the GOP eats them for breakfast down there.

Oh I forgot...it's everyone's and everything's fault EXCEPT theirs. Fraud, 'the media,' candidate, campaign, 'values and morals,' homos, whatever.

If you were better organized you could actually DO something about all the things you whine about!

20. umm, you're proving my point exactly.
complaining about unprovable, fringe conspiracies, instead of doing the hard work of organizing (if indeed you're from Georgia) and taking action.

Let's say there really is fraud going on. Injustice is not a new phenomenon in this country, and the only way people citizens have ever overcome injustice is to physically organize (ie not chat room bitching).
