More info RE: Election Errors in Youngstown, OH
Some of you probably saw the LA TIMES story about the machine in Youngstown, OH that was found to have NEGATIVE 25 million votes on it. Yesterday I spent about an hour at the Mahoning County Board of Elections, where I was even allowed to OPEN a memory module used in the older ES&S voting machines.

Primitive tech, to say the least!!! Data is transfered to the module from the machine via INFRARED, and the module does NOT even lock into place to insure alignment!

In fact, a total of 12 machines came back with NEGATIVE vote totals, and I saw ONE that had MINUS 60 MILLION votes on it!!!

ES&S has NO answer as to HOW this happened, and the BOE cannot replicate the problem!

The 'correct' vote totals were eventually recovered from the system memory of each individual voting machine, and these totals were NOT corrupted.

More on this later. I must sign off since Janet and I are moving back to Minneapolis in the morning!!! I'll provide more details at that time.

3. This is hard evidence
This is hard evidence that there are real, non-conspiracy theory, problems with the e-voting machines.

Just a few questions, who is Rick Myers? Why should I believe what he says? Don't mean to be negative but I got to know the source.

6. I'm a life-long progressive Dem
I've done liberal talk radio for 6 years and acted as an official 'civilian' observer for 2 elections. I teach computer graphics and digital video production. I've tech edited books on Premiere, After Effects and other software packages.

I'm simply reporting what I was allowed to see. I was shown the machines by BOTH deputy commissioners of the BOE, one dem, the other R. I respect both of them very much and have known them for years.

MANY media outlets have contacted them, listened to the story, and then done NOTHING with it. THEY are frustrated because it makes them look bad. They even want me to put them in touch with Bev Harris for some insight.

Now, WHO ARE YOU?

10. Thanks
I'm new to DU, as you can tell. I've just been a little paranoid since the Repubs have started to purge their nonconformists.

Wow, you certainly have the credential. I appreciate all your work on behalf of all of us.

I wasn't questioning your accuracy, I just wanted to know you were a reliable source. Your evidence is what I wanted to hear but I didn't trust myself. My family (some of which are liberal Democrats) thinks I'm slightly nuts for believing the election count was wrong.

I am K. C. Baker-Harbin. I'm a retired Naval Officer, mother of three, writer of fiction. I live in East TN surrounded by Repubs (which only makes me more paranoid). I've been a Liberal Democrat all my life.

Thanks for the info.

5. Okay, we need to get organized here. Please do this and spread the word.

We're amassing a large amount of data on DU with no way to sort it all out. At the National Ballot Integrity Project website, there are forums set up for each state. As these key stories appear, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, could you take it on yourself to post it on the state forum at NBIP as well. We're using the same forum software, so it's a cinch to use. The Greens and Libertarians are great but don't have much of a clue about what's going on. We're going to have to work very hard with them to make sure the right things are being checked, and we need a good record with a method for updates. The NBIP forums are perfectly set up for this.

Don't stop using DU, because this is where everybody congregates, but PLEASE also post your stuff at NBIP as well for permanency.

on edit: the website is http://www.ballotintegrity.org. Click on the forums link. Sorry.

7. Infrared?
I'm speechless. What did the taxpayers spend for this antiquated equipment?

:wtf:

We're living in an era of bluetooth technology, and yet these machines transfer data via infrared. Nonreplicable errors mean nonscientific accuracy, which means massaging the vote with impunity is a logical inference.

For those who tell us to take off our tinfoil hats, I say, "Take off your tinfoil blinders."
