see

http://www.votecobb.org/

"the initial Ohio recount filing fees and expenses have been received"

"Now we are beginning to organize for the recount itself. Please help us to raise money to pay for training, mobilizing, and per diem expenses for the thousands of supporters who will be working on the recount effort throughout Ohio. ...

We have set an initial goal of $100,000 for this effort. Let's see if we can raise this by next Monday, November 22."

1. The Greens can
ask for a recount within five days of the certification of election results which is Dec/1st according to Ohio election law (go to the Ohio secretary of state to find this law) . The electors will meet on Dec/13 to cast their votes.
First there is no guarantee what so ever that he will be granted a recount.
Second if they grant the Greens a recount they do not have time to count all the state of Ohio in less than 12 days (between Dec/1st and Dec/13th).

4. Why oh why
must we automatically assume someone's a freep because they have a low post count and post something that isn't crystal clear to you ?

Maybe this person is workign from old info, or is confused ??

Being all suspicious and snarfy is NOT going to help the Dem cause.

5. Maybe - but
I can't help being suspicious; especially when his/her reply is meant to discount the original post.

8. David Cobb and Michael Badnarik
"announced their intentions" to file a formal demand for a recount of the presidential ballots cast in Ohio.
Where do you see that the recount has been granted.

t r u t h o u t | Press Release

Monday 15 November 2004

Green Party Campaign Raises $150,000 in 4 Days, Shifts Gears to Phase II
WASHINGTON -- November 15 -- There will be a recount of the presidential vote in Ohio.

On Thursday, David Cobb, the Green Party’s 2004 presidential candidate, announced his intention to seek a recount of the vote in Ohio. Since the required fee for a statewide recount is $113,600, the only question was whether that money could be raised in time to meet the filing deadline. That question has been answered.

“Thanks to the thousands of people who have contributed to this effort, we can say with certainty that there will be a recount in Ohio,” said Blair Bobier, Media Director for the Cobb-LaMarche campaign.

13. Being new to this board,
I am still trying to figure out the 'lingo'. I've managed to 'get' a few but have yet to figure out "freeper". I know who you are talking about but where did the term come from?

Sorry if I sound stupid.

3. If you think we are going to let GOP run the clock out again....
when the founding fathers gave plenty of time for counting the votes you got another thing coming. People are ready to die in this country to make sure all the votes are counted.

9. who cares?
I just want all the votes to be counted. In addition I would like to see recounts or audits of as many precincts in the U.S. as possible to verify the absence of tampering. And I don't care if hell freezes over first or who becomes Prez in the meantime.

31. Why do you keep repeating this over and over?
DU legal eagles, correct me if I'm wrong, but if they can't do a recount in the time the law allows, wouldn't that open the state up to a court challenge that the state would likely lose?

The Vote Cobb website is down. Could this be one of the "mysterious" outages that BBV has had so many of lately?

19. Does seem like a "myterious" outage, maybe someone's nervous, ...

maybe someone doesn't want this recount to happen for some "mysterious" reason, maybe someone's got something "mysterious" to hide.

have already generated phony numbers at each poll station?

If the electronic machines were "fixed" to take votes away
from Kerry, then just adding their totals won't change anything
since we are adding fraudulent numbers.

Please someone explain this. Thanks.

26. i am certain the recounts will challenge
the methods of electronic vote calculations, if necessary. there have been several "glitches" (and the media has taken to calling them) with electronic totals.
think about it...without the ability to independently verify the calculation of electronic votes...well, that's giving someone a green light to manipulate the vote.

30. Question: did Ohio really not use Diebold machines?
From the Ohio Dems website http://www.ohiodems.org/index.php?display=ReleaseDetails&id=191152&PHPSESSID=7217f589542b903000dbf941ef6dee10:

► No Ohio County used Diebold Electronic Voting Machines Ohio did not use modern electronic voting machines in this election. Six counties use an older form of electronic voting, which has a means of verifying the accuracy of the vote. In 69 Ohio Counties, punch card ballots were used

I thought they were using Diebold equipment to tabulate the votes? Wrong?

We need to absolutely clarify when we're talking about optical scanners, touch-screen machines, tabulating machines, and/or tabulating software, or we'll have more statements like this that are narrowly accurate but broadly false.

were by companies of E&S (something like that) and Sequoia, all being Repubic/Bush donors.
