FL Dept of State has changed the Election Results Again!
I have hard copies of the results they posted on 11/03/04 and the revised totals on 11/10/04.

I've been checking the site almost everyday since, and now new numbers have been posted again.

However, they give no indication that they've revised these tables. But even odder is that all the percentages have stayed the same.

http://enight.dos.state.fl.us/DetailRpt.Asp?ELECTIONDATE=11/02/2004&RACE=PRE&PARTY=&DIST=&GRP=&DATAMODE=E

On 11/03/04 FL Dept of State reported -

3,812,485 / Bush 52.1%
3,444,201 / Kerry 47.1%

On 11/10/04 FL Dept of State with 100% of all counties reporting -

3,956,346 / Bush 52.1%
3,575,056 / Kerry 47.1%

On 11/14/04 FL Dept of State with 100% of all counties is reporting -

3,964,522 / Bush 52.1%
3,583,544 / Kerry 47.1%

So, how can you claim that with 100% of all counties reporting you have a total of 7,531,402 votes for Bush and Kerry combined. Then on 11/14/04 you suddenly have a total of 7,548,066 votes for Bush and Kerry combined. All of a sudden 16,644 more votes have turned up and the numbers changed in almost every county but not all of them.

Funny how the total percentage for each candidate hasn't changed at all either, not even by one point in either direction? Sorry, I don't buy it at all.

1. Military ballots were counted
up until 11/13. That would change the final totals.

4. Wouldn't that mean that Kerry was near 50% in the Military vote?!

7. It's beginning to look like that might be the case
http://www.local6.com/news/3916838/detail.html

I posted this in another thread.

"Meanwhile, the board tallied ballots for 87 Broward voters serving in the military.

Those voters chose Democratic candidate John Kerry over President Bush, 51-34. Two did not make a choice in the presidential race.

The number of rejected overseas military ballots was not available, but County Judge Robert Lee said more were rejected than counted."

9. If that isn't a tell tale sign of voter fraud, I don't know what is...
Edited on Sun Nov-14-04 07:43 PM by jsamuel
If Kerry managed to be near 50% in the military vote in Florida, there IS NO WAY HE WAS AT 47% OVERALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone needs to try to get the raw numbers in Florida of the Military vote.

12. Here's another one
The late count of provisional and overseas – predominantly military – ballots took place Sunday and Monday at the county courthouse. White added 54 votes to her total, whereas Baxter only added 30. (As an interesting footnote, Butts said the majority of military votes in the Travis Co. presidential race went to John Kerry, who took 259 votes to George Bush's 138.)

http://www.austinchronicle.com/issues/dispatch/2004-11-...

It must be like that all over because if it broke the other way it'd be all over the place.

16. If you live in Texas e-mail the paper
and ask them to make this a story. If the military ballot is breaking for Kerry, that is big. I already mailed the newspaper in Ft. Lauderdale asking them to look into it.

Note: when I say "big" it's not about fraud, but about the military voting for a Democrat and how it shows how dissatisfied they are with the Iraq war.

24. No, it means the military vote
(if that's what it was) followed the same 52.1 - 47.1 ratio. If the military vote was 50-50, Kerry would have gone up in the ratio.

25. No he wouldn't have, because it wasn't enough to make a difference overall
Even if we assume your number is correct, that BLOWS OTHER ELECTIONS OUT OF THE WATER!

Military votes normally go 60%+ for the Republican. This is pretty evident...

I omitted the totals that went to other candidates.

Supposedly .8% of the vote went to other.

8. I'm really glad Bev Harris is looking into this state...
Edited on Sun Nov-14-04 07:43 PM by ailsagirl
The figures keep changing but the percentages for each man remain the same? Don't they even know how many votes they counted?? Unless they're obfuscating the issue, which wouldn't surprise me.

Has anyone seen this interactive map?? (Note that the darkest states are the ones that have more than 1000 incidents reported.)

https://voteprotect.org/index.php?display=EIRMapNation&tab=ALL

If you click on Florida, you'll see that three heavily-Democrat counties have very high rates of "voter irregularities."

Palm Beach 660
Broward 921
Miami-Dade 925

That's a lot. The state as a whole has over 4000 incidents. Not to say they can all be chalked up to fraud but something is definitely wrong.

11. If you do the calculations
Edited on Sun Nov-14-04 07:44 PM by distantearlywarning
using a calculator, you will see that the percentages actually DON'T change. This is because of the sheer number of votes already there before new votes are added.

No conspiracy to see here folks...move along.

:-)

(This message in no way implies that I don't think that there might be other suspicious things about the voting patterns in Florida.)

Also edited to say: I'm not sure why they keep adding new votes. Maybe absentee ballots are being counted and added to the totals? I don't think they should say that 100% of ballots have been counted and then add more numbers. That seems rather sloppy.

13. 16,644 new votes isn't going to affect the percentages to the 0.1%
Not when you aready have 7.2 million votes to start with.

You're going to have to look at 3 or 4 places after the decimal point in the percentages to see the affect of 16,644 new votes.

14. From the 11/03 until today a total of 274,716 votes have been added
that means about 3.6% more votes were added.

The percentages should have had some variations.

I look at numbers for a living, this doesn't happen.

17. Revisions are based on state law
The Secretary of State revises the figures based on reports from the county Supervisors of Elections. Florida law stipulates different due dates. The first set of unofficial results were due from the Supervisor of Elections on 11/4. Most but not all of the votes were tallied by that dated. The final results were due yesterday and certified today in Tallahassee. Revised figures include not only military votes but oversees absentee ballots, local absentee ballots, provisional ballots, and revised machine county in those counties were local candidates contested the results (one town did two recounts and then finally chose a city council member by a coin toss).

19. Then when they change the report they should indicate
that it is a revision and on what date it was revised.

Second, they should not be claiming that 100% of the vote in a county was reported on 11/03 and then change the totals for those counties at least two more times since.

if fixed across the counties as well. The results are just too consistent.

23. They are consistent
because bush is "decisive" and he told Rove, "Make it so."

Good work, DYEW, and all contributors. If it weren't so damn important, the unraveling of the Mystery Election of 2004 would be a thrilling read. Instead, it's kind of nauseating.

Bravo for the military, voting against the Demander in Chief :)

26. 100%? I thought it was unusual ...
... to have 100% of the votes accounted for (adding the candidate's percentages)? Or do they not count overs, unders, impropers, etc. in tabulating the percentage column in these reports?

27. Website still says 1st set of unofficial results
The website still lists the numbers for the presidential race as the first set of unofficial results. It looks like they haven't yet posted the final, certified results. Under voter turnout and provisional ballots, they list the dates the figures were updated, but not under the presidential or senate races. You'll notice that they don't have provisional ballot numbers posted yet for a number of counties. My guess is that those numbers on the website are not final. If they are, they need to label them accordingly.
The numbers on the Palm Beach county website are also old, dated Nov. 5.
100% means 100% of precincts reporting, not 100% of the votes.
When the counties submitted their first unofficial results on Nov. 4, they had reports from all the precincts (hence the 100% designation)
and were supposed to have counted absentee and provisional ballots, but military ballots (and maybe others, I'm not sure) can and do come in after Nov. 4.

The Division of Elections has links to Florida election laws if you want to read them. http://election.dos.state.fl.us/laws/index.shtml
You could have also watched the local county canvassing board counting the provisional and absentee ballots on access television if you have a high tolerance for boredom. I could only take about 10 minutes of it.

on election night and last week but I saw a post from you recently about palm beach and there appears to be ballots there when election night there were zero.
