(In anticipation of the start of the presidential election campaign in the U.S., local election commissions in the big states have decided to renounce the use of electronic voting systems. Experts estimate that the percentage wishing to vote through "smart" machines will decrease significantly, and consequently increase the number of supporters to vote on paper ballots.)

1. Of course...who knows how much crap the Russians get away with in their elections?
As interesting as this article (and the translation) is, to have Russia critiquing our election system is not a strong leg to stand on.

2. Any voice criticizing our elections is a welcome one.
YOU CAN'T HAVE A DEMOCRACY when the vote is counted in secret by private corporations without verification using machines that are trivially easy to manipulate or fraudulently program in ways that are impossible to detect.

It is IMPOSSIBLE.

How is our election system superior to Russia's?

Maybe I'm missing something.

3. Sorry for any confusion.
As best I can tell, this article results from the Associated Press story of a month ago that was picked up by many outlets.

Russia is not claiming they have a superior system. I didn't post it as "a leg to stand on" with regard to election reform.
