Have you seen any reports on the recount in the MSM?
I have been asking people I know who watch CNN, NBC, etc. if they have heard anything about the NH recount, and they keep saying no. Has it been completely censored? How is this not newsworthy?

1. We're not supposed to know about it. This week an AP reporter
was on Washington Journal and when a caller brought up NH, the reporter said she knew of no credible reports of problems there. I wrote to both AP and WJ, but you'd think a political reporter would know these things.

2. As soon as notable discrepancies are found
...it will be a major news story. So far there appear to be some issues with write-in votes in Manch 5, but I don't know if it was machine or human error yet.

3. Do you really want to see news coverage
of $9/hour retirees sitting around in an office counting ballots? It doesn't really make for gripping television viewing, not even on the likes of C-SPAN. If something significant pops up, then it will receive coverage, but "censorship" is a pretty strong and unfounded word to toss around.

5. This is the "Election Reform" Forum, so yes.
Censorship is not a strong or unfounded word, and the challenge is itself significant. There have not been reports of this major development, they have all chosen *not* to mention this rare challenge to the voting process during an election year. Since I hear about every time Britney goes to get another Starbucks, I don't really see any logic to your statement.

4. What's interesting is that this newsworthy event is not being reported
...no matter the eventual result. Lots of news stories go into heavy rotation before their conclusions, why not this one?

One example-Scoooter Libby's trial was front-page news for MONTHS before the verdict was known.

9. Even DU has buried it here. I forgot that posts about the re-count...
had to be in this forum. The last few days I have been skimming the front page and latest breaking news and saw nothing about the re-count. Then I remembered to look in the election forum. The ignorance around the importance of full audits is astonishing out in the non-virtual world. It is better than it was, but we have a long way to go. If you take a percentage of losses and spreadf them over multiple counties it can make a huge difference. A partial re-count I think is worse than none.
