Velvet Revolution Offers $100,000 Reward for Information About E-Fraud In New Hampshire Primary
Submitted by davidswanson on Mon, 2008-01-14 20:15. Activism | Elections

The primary election in New Hampshire on Tuesday has left a lot of people with questions about whether something was wrong with the Diebold vote machines used in 80% of the state. As The Brad Blog has been reporting the past few days, http://www.bradblog.com/?p=5535, http://www.bradblog.com/?p=5540, http://www.bradblog.com/?p=5537, http://www.bradblog.com/?p=5532, http://www.bradblog.com/?p=5530, the exit polls, the pre election polls and the difference between the hand counted ballots and the machine counted ballots tend to raise questions about the results of the Obama/Clinton race and the Romney/other GOP candidate races. In short, on the Democrat side, the polls all showed Obama winning handily against Clinton, and the hand counted ballots across the state showed Obama winning. It was only in key Diebold counted counties that the results were skewed toward Clinton.

Now we don’t know if this discrepancy is attributable to real dynamics on the ground or to something wrong with the Diebold counting machines. However, we believe that the stunning election upset should be scrutinized fully. Therefore, we are offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any person or persons who caused a manipulation of the Diebold machines used in the New Hampshire primary election sufficient to flip the Obama/Clinton race, or information that results in an official change of the first place winner of that Democrat race.

We also recognize that there have been reasonable allegations by the Ron Paul campaign that these same machines were manipulated in the GOP race, but not sufficient enough to change the first place winner results. (In Sutton County officials admitted to us that they had mistakenly left off 31 votes for Ron Paul, although this was “human error.” See pdf.) Therefore, we urge the Paul campaign to join us in this reward with a matching amount targeted toward the GOP race.

Tips can be confidentially given at 1-888-VOTETIP.

5. Wow. Awesome. .. happy to Rec. this
hope it yields something substantial from a "disgruntled" Diebold employee.. or at least helps keeps the recount in NH honest, fair and thorough.

9. This Makes No Sense
Anyone with common sense who looks into this can see the holes in the Clint Curtis story. It's as if a strawman was created to both boost the BradBlog and tie the election integrity movement in with the notion of tinfoil. Then the DailyKos came out with its clampdown on posts about election fraud. Then Mark Lindeman goes on about citizen journalists riding on hobby horses, as if that is the be all end all of the story.

It is beyond strange that a convicted bomber named Brett Kimberlin is bankrolling this sort of thing.

Larisa of RawStory even went so far as to post that he was innocent, that he was a political prisoner.

Kimberlin had gotten thrown into solitary confinement after attempting to tell the world he had sold pot to Dan Quayle. There is one source which links Kimberlin to the funding of RawStory also, which certainly would constitute that Alexandrovna had a conflict of interest, when she tried to minimize the true history of this former domestic terrorist. Maybe people can turn over a new leaf. But I doubt he got that much money from the pot thing.

A few other things are troubling. If one looks at the comments on the BradBlog, many of them sound way over the top. E.G. There is the mod named Agent99 glorifying Cynthia McKinney without any mention of her recent bizarre comments about 5,000 prisoners executed after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans.

There is a certain methodology to tinfoil by association. If all these various elements are coincidental, they have certainly worked towards framing this topic as an enigma simply one level above the 9/11 dungeon. It has served the ptb's to have a PhD mentioning exit polls at every opportunity. My fear is that there is no real freedom of speech or association on the internet. Facts are being buried through the evoking of authority along with the image of an unsubstantiated blogosphere. Thus, if a story doesn't make it to the television, the perception becomes that it must not be true.

If BradBlog {Brad Friedman- Co-Founder of Velvet revolution} and RawStory weren't so secretive about Kimberlin's true past, there wouldn't be all these nagging doubts about BradBlog and RawStory.

Finally, just take a look at any merry-go-round, predictable thread anywhere on the internet. How often does one now find dialogue and research with logical consistency? Not very often, imho. And that is a sad development which keeps escalating.

10. you expect things to make sense?
OK. hey, I'm in league with Brad Friedman to distract the masses. Write it.

Seriously -- it isn't that there isn't freedom of speech on the internet, at least enough for people to patch together whatever weird belief system or discursive patterns they wish.

As for Brett Kimberlin, yeah, that's an amazing story.

11. Please don't Jump To Premature Conclusions
I didn't say you were in league with Brad. But you guys are polar opposites of a created enigma. The things about Kimberlin and Curtis help your side of the argument, imho.

As for freedom of speech on the net, I think you are being naive. One may be able to post their ideas and research, but there are other ways such things get buried. Like with what I said about the tv news versus the blogosphere.

As regards to your extreme focus on exit polls, I think people would take you more seriously if you applied the same energy to other issues, such as with the Republican manipulation of the voter rolls.

Do you admit that it would be easy to flip the votes on those electronic machines? Do you admit that if that is done, that there would be no way to prevent that from happening? And if yes, then don't you think paper ballots are the way to go? How come we can spend all this money blowing out ozone holes with space shuttles, how come we have all this money to char Iraqi babies, yet we don't have the wherewithal to conduct authentic elections?

And I think the inevitable will happen, those machines will be outlawed. But then the problem becomes that the audits of computer machines will be rigged also.

Atwater and Rove were/are criminals. Our leadership is full of war criminals. And you want us to believe that these same people aren't manipulating election results?

{OnTheOtherHand is Mark Lindeman.}

13. you have no idea what I apply energy to
You apparently have very little idea what my "side of the argument" is. And I cannot make you my problem. Go run up your post count on someone else.

If you're seriously interested in my opinions (which I doubt), try e-mail. I generally answer it.

12. Yes, I Do Expect Things To Make Sense
Back in the day, academics were in the forefront of the peace movement. The legendary Herbert Marcuse helped organize student movement during the Vietnam War. Any opinions on Howard Zinn?

Are you a true progressive? Can you give people some reasons to believe you are truly on the right side of history? Are there social issues you are involved in other than the debate over exit polls? How do you feel about the idea that our leadership consists of war criminals? Please sir, if you are for real, you have to throw us unwashed masses some bones. I'm not seeing anything from you which suggests progressive values.

What you do seem to have is a cushy existence and a lot of free time to post on this board and the DailyKos.

Did you protest Iran-Contra? Where are your writings on the evil, historic nature of US foreign policy?

Do you even understand how you are perceived? Come on, cough it up. Show why anyone should trust that you are truly a progressive.
