"Chain of Custody"? Where have these ballots been?
Edited on Fri Jan-11-08 12:31 PM by sam kane
Does anyone know if John Silvestro and LSH associates (who have control over the machines in NH) have had custody of the ballots too?

While I assume (hope?) that Kuchinich's people have cleared this question before asking for the recount, I would be very appreciative of any links and confirmation that LSH has been allowed nowhere near the ballots themselves. Otherwise, I'm afraid that this will backfire (even though I have spent a lot of time questioning the vote) because it would be so easy to hide what happened.

It is my understanding that Obama and Clinton got the number of votes expected, just that Clinton also got 20,000 more. So one wouldn't have to even pull Obama ballots, just pad with more Clinton ones, which seeems simple enough.

If the ballots have been only in NH government control it would be great news.

Thank you!

3. There's a few threads on it already today.
My pennies: those who favor investigations have a valid point. Where their case fails is this: without a recount, there will be no investigation.

6. That's what worries me. Maybe I'm missing something.
I hope DFNH updates us today so we can approach the same page.

8. I've yet to do more than a brief scan of the article
Edited on Fri Jan-11-08 12:49 PM by stellanoir
but the impression I got is that an accurate recount had been blocked in the past in any more than 11 counties in the past.

If they can possibly ward off that eventuality, by overcoming trolls on the ground, then probably both a recount and an investigation is warranted.

4. why is it so hard to take every ballot and hand count them?
it was done for decades this way.

Its so simple that it shouldnt even be an issue.

1. take all the ballots
2. count all the ballots do they equal number of total votes reported
3. count actual votes on ballots do they equal number of total votes reported for each candidate

10. It should have been
... but it wasn't. Nor is it done ANYWHERE that Electronic Voting is done. We have to change that paradigm, and the first step is to alert the Sheeple to the problem.

12. there's been election fraud before there were machines
Edited on Fri Jan-11-08 01:08 PM by NYCALIZ
ballots go missing
ballots get stuffed
counting the ballots doesn't necessarily prove anything

5. This is very important. The controls on the accuracy of the recount
are even more important than the recount itself.

The size of the vote in NH is such that ballot substitution/addition could easily be take place in parallel with altered machine counts.

9. You are correct in the details in this case
However,no one has shown me an alternative method of shining a light on the process that can and will be done TODAY. The recount is the best we've got.

And while it goes on, we make lots of noise about the COC, private vote counts, etc. We need to SHOW people that the process is BROKEN.

11. Exactly. People asking for proof of fraud are starting at the wrong end
of the process.

We need proof of election integrity. There really is none of that!

13. the only way to have election integrity is to have heavy
citizen participation in the process

citizen judges
citizen monitors
citizen auditers
citizen tallyers
not a single citizen, but teams of citizens drawn from a crosssection of society

you can't have a conspiracy with thousands of people
