Ohio Recount Green party fund - less than $40,000 to go.
Edited on Sat Nov-13-04 08:57 PM by Eric J in MN
Please donate to the Green Party Ohio recount effort:
http://web.greens.org/c/cobb/supporters.cgi?function=donate

They need to raise $150,000, and are most of the way there. Let's give them the rest.

It's unlikely to change the election-results, but let's try to learn the truth about this election.

3. Why does everyone always say
it's unlikely to change the election results? If there's a recount, and Kerry has more votes, he's the President. Period.

4. Yes, but if the machine count was reasonably accurate,
then Kerry won't gain a lot of votes from a hand-recount.

5. I believe we've already hashed this out
to be somewhere around 250,000,000 to 1.

I believe something big is about to happen. :bounce::bounce: :bounce:

6. Done

Corporate America controls the media and we get manufactured news.
Corporate America now controls the voting machines and we get manufactured elections.

12. The recount is on then
As far as I remember they only strictly speaking needed just over 110,000 for the recount, the rest is for related costs whatever they are. So whatever else happens now barring any odd legal challenges (which by my understanding there shouldn't be any of) there will now be a recount in Ohio. Which is quite momentous really all things considered.

13. Right. They already have enough for the filing fees, and
now they could just use another $40,000 to pay people to do the filing.

27. My infinite gratitude to this
site known as democratic underground. I find it invaluable, I just donated as well.

I have three teenagers and they are very engaged in the politics shaping the world they will inherit. I want them to be able to tell their children one day that grandma made a difference so that every vote will be counted, just as my Mom changed me by dragging me to McGovern conventions back in the day and raising me democratic. If it weren't for this site, I never would have known the wealth of information I have found since Novemeber 2nd, 2004. And I had a lot to begin with -- I'm a C-span junkie!
