hints to defend voters against challenges?

i will be a judge on tuesday for an aldermanic run-off. i have worked hard for the incumbant in a campaign against people who smell like rove. i was told today that a leaked gotv plan includes a plan to challenge voters.
i have checked out the actual procedures, etc, but wonder if any of you have any stories that you could share about dealing with this sort of bs. (for one thing. i am thinking of getting a tattoo of this-
