Public meeting in Tallahassee tomorrow for citizens to voice concerns
Improve Florida's Elections: Two Things You Can Do

Dear Florida voter:

We've just learned the Chairman of the Florida Senate Committee on Ethics and Elections has agreed to hold a public meeting on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 from 2pm to 4:30pm, for Floridians to voice concerns and comments about the Nov. 2006 elections.

This is an opportunity for you to speak out, and make recommendations about how Florida's elections could be improved!
The Committee set up the meeting upon request of State Senator Tony Hill, who was inspired in part by a forum "Will Your Vote Count? A Forum on Voting Machines and Voter Verification" in Washington DC in early January. That event was sponsored by a number of advocacy groups, including People for the American Way, Common Cause, Electronic Frontier Foundation and others. (Thanks to PFAW for the heads-up about Tuesday's meeting!)
1. If you will be in the Tallahassee area, please try to attend if you can!
What: Public Meeting, Florida Senate Committee on Ethics & Elections
When: Tuesday, January 23, 2007 from 2pm to 4:30pm
Where: Pat Thomas Committee Room, #412, Knott Building, 404 South Monroe Street, Tallahassee, FL 32399

2. If you can't be there in person, you can still be heard: send an email to 2006election@flsenate.gov to submit a comment to the Committee about your 2006 election experience or observations, and suggestions for urgent next steps to be taken in Florida to improve elections. (Note: The meeting may be televised on the Florida Channel, so check your listings.)
Feel free to send us a copy of your testimony too... send to contact@verifiedvoting.org
