The Ciber Report? The EAC Now Admits It Really Exists

So why did Commissioner Hillman tell the media that the report did not exist?

The Ciber Report? The EAC Now Admits It Really Exists

By John Gideon, VotersUnite.org

January 09, 2007

Contradictions seem to be flowing from the Election Assistance Commission (EAC). In an article dated 6 January ("Testing Lab Failure Leads To Obfuscation By The Election Assistance Commission" The Journal News (NY) was quoted:

New York officials said they read in a published report that the Election Assistance Commission has known since last summer that there were inadequacies with the way Ciber Inc. of Greenwood Village, Colo., was performing tests on machines and documenting results.

"At the present time, until we get that report in our hands and have a chance to review it, I can't comment myself that we are fully comfortable that all of those issues have been addressed," said Peter Kosinski, co-executive director of the state Board of Elections.

But Commissioner Gracia Hillman of the Election Assistance Commission said Thursday there is no such report.

I then asked two simple questions: "No such report? If there is no report on the testing procedures used by Ciber, on what basis did the EAC refuse to accredit them?"

It turns out that Commissioner Hillman was wrong. There is a report. In fact there seems to be a lot of paperwork and that paperwork was the basis for the lack of accreditation.

1. I'm convinced at this point...
...that the only reason the GOP theft didn't materialize in the 06 midterms is because it would have opened an investigation, and shit like this would have come out. Not JUST this, this is relatively minor comparatively. But all the accompanying nasty sewage that would spew forth would reveal so much about what is going on that they couldn't afford it. Best to hold back, hold off, stonewall...and try to maintain the status quo as long as you can. Who knows..you might need 'em again in a couple of years.

3. Pretty sure that GOP theft did occur in the 06 midterms.
FL 13 is just one example. There are four challenges in FL.

This time they might be busted. Caught with their hand in the cookie jar.

4. I suspect that you are correct. But all they did was stem the rising tide
of disenchantment. Even their thievin' ways were not enough to change this sea change. Perhaps a few seats, maybe even a senate spot. but the people spoke - and that scares the GOP neoConmen the most. their lies have become untenable and unbelievable to the general public.

5. Nope -- the only reason is that Rove et. al. didn't understand
the depth and breadth of the anti-Bush, anti-war, anti-corruption sentiment on the part of even formerly loyal GOPers. Here, have a look at this:
