McCormack screwed up big time it seems: EIRS reports
http://eirs.cs.net:8080/EIRS_WEB/Reporting/displayCountyIncidents.do?county=los%20angeles,state=california

Now the pollworker book indicated it was a Precint Ballot Reader (PBR) and not a Precinct Ballot Counter (PBC) which is it?

sample: InkaVote Plus problems

the optical scanning machine at the polling place at 515 Bundy Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90049, was eating everyone's ballots. So, the poll workers have been stuffing the ballots into a black box

There is one "scantron" machine at the polling place (2270 South Harvard Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA), and it is not working at all. There are paper ballots but there is a very long line, and only one booth for the paper ballot voting. Voter was concerned that votes would not be counted. Machine has not been working all morning

Electronic voting machine used for verification of votes not working at the following polling place: 12905 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles. Caller indicated at the county officials were contacted regarding this problem but was still unsolved when she left the polling place. Caller indicated that she is also volunteering with a political party and will return to the polling place this afternoon to check on the situation.

All voters are being given provisional ballots, poll workers failed to bring proper materials except provisional ballots. Many voters leaving because lines are long.

Scanner not working, voter given provisional ballots but caller concerned that ballots were not being handled properly and questioned whether they would be counted. Voter is Arab/American, concerned about having his vote count.

Voter indicated that machine in which ballots are inserted after voting gave a "fatal error". Poll worker indicated that ballots would have to be counted by hand.

Caller is a poll monitor for the Green Party for Congress candidate. He noted that one of the machines does not function properly. It is a punch-card machine and while it is allowing voters to vote using punch-card ballots, it has no power (b/c no power cord was supplied) and thus it is not doing the usual error checking, etc. that would be done if the machine had power. The monitor's name is below (witness info).

Ballot was hand placed without being registered on the counter. Voter is concerned that the ballot will not be counted. She saw several other voters ballots collected in the same manner.

registration

Pollworker called and did not want to provide name. She said that three people have come in and voted provisionally because they did not receive their absentee ballots. She did not get their names. Also, she said that Phil Angelides is the first candidate on the absentee and sample ballots but the second choice on the voting machine (Inkavote?) ballot, so some may not vote correctly.

Caller had registered in August but not received any confirmation of registration.

voter signed a petition at a local Walmart claiming to be about lowering gas prices a couple months ago and the Republican party used her signature to change her affiliation by submitting it to the county office and putting a check next to her name to indicate she wanted to change her affiliation. she has changed it back but wanted to report the practice.

Voter never received absentee ballot. Voted via provisional ballot at the poll. Poll workers had her sign the poll list in addition to the provisional ballot.

Needed to know where she is supposed to vote. Moved two months ago and re-registered at new location. Did not receive any voter information since re-registering.

Caller had moved since last election and had not received any sample ballot or information on polling place.

Request for absentee ballot was returned and it was returned to sender as undeliverable.

Voter moved 1 year ago to LA County and changed address with DMV. She had not received any voter information this election and wanted to know if she was registered.

Caller registered to vote on Oct. 2. Called to verify registration and told she was not registered.

voter had moved, and requested an absentee ballot which he had not received.

Voter heard elderly people complaining about the other polling place where there was no parking and no bathroom and the other poling place wsa offering provisional ballots.

Machine inspector interfering with machine usage and polling workers at 10036 Wisner Avenue, Mission Hills, CA. Poll worker name is Desto Chayau.

deceptive flyer
Voter received a deceptive flyer from "Larry Levine & Associates" representing the "Democratic" platform on candidates and props. He says it gave false information on which props to vote for.

I got one, too

5. PS a newer interesting one
Machine that reads ballots to determine over- or under-voting is broken. Caller/observer was filling out report. County commissioner was being friendly to him, but later received a call and said that she had been instructed by the County Registrar not to talk to him.

6. Here are some for Land Shark
Absentee ballot issue- AB can be returned to any precinct in County in which voter is registered. Voter, who was once a pollworker, tried to turn in his AB and was told he had to vote provisionally, and pollworkers were arguing as to what the procedure was. It clearly states on the envelope what needs to happen. Voter discussed with Robin Blade, pollworker and with Sandra Rehman -- they refused to sign envelope or look at their instruction manual, and refused to sign envelope and put precinct # before placing in ballot box. Voter inquired if this is what they did all morning- voter concerned all ballots AB will be invalidated.

Poll worker said loudly that paper ballots would not be counted for one month.

2 precincts at polling location - electronic voting machines are not working at precinct 2726016 as of 7:30am; paper ballots handed out instead; they hadn't sealed ballot box.

Voter arrived at poll this morning, the electronic machines were not working, so all voters were given paper ballots. These were "scantron-like" paper ballots. The voter was given a pencil, but asked and was told they had to use pens. However, they did not have enough pens. Voter wants to make sure others don't have the same problem, and wants to make sure her vote is counted

Machine was electronic with paper trail. Voter was supposed to be able to view paper trail to confirm voted correctly, however paper trail window was blocked with a "for office use only" label

The polling place only had one booth set aside for paper votes, which resulted in a line for voting via paper. There was no line for the numerous Diebold machines voting.

Voter was concerned with behavior of poll workers. She asked for a paper ballot and was basically told that they were only for people with disabilities. Finally she was able to get one (after the pollworkers pressured them to use them machines). Then, when she handed in her ballot, the pollworker placed it in the "box" without first tearing off the receipt and giving it to the voter. When she asked for her receipt, she was told it was too bad that she forgot to tear it off.

Electronic voting machine error, reporting voter sucessfully voted on paper ballot. Machine was removed from service.

Voter went to polling place and asked whether the Diebolt machined printed out paper receipts. The poll workes said the machine did not print out receipts so she asked for a paper ballot. She was then told that the paper ballot would not be scanned on the premises but taken down to the registrar's office to be scanned. The poll worker then tried to place her ballot in the provisional box. The voter told the poll worker that that was not correct. A few other voters also informed the poll worker that that was not correct and the poll worker placed the voter's ballot in the regular ballot box. In addition, Diebolt machine does not seem to allow voter to compare printed version with machine version. Precint Number: 408150 Polling Place: La Costa Meadows Elementary School, 6889 El Fuerte St., Carlsbad, CA

Voter went to the polling place and there was total chaos. There was a shortage of paper ballots and no pens. They tried to give someone a pencil to fill a ballot which wouldn't work. The electronic voting machines were not hooked and were not working right. They asked for voting information on the ballot envelope -- SSN and address. Voter's friend also took machine ballot, but the ballot was already filled.

WOW many people are upset that the paper ballots are not going to be counted until Thursday - hearing it on the radio, Land Shark!
You will have a lot of plaintiffs, perhaps?!
