Question to DUers Re: Recount Efforts
Being new to DU, but having watched you for a few months, I assume that you have all undertaken an aggressive LTE campaign in your hometowns aimed at informing (and igniting) the public about the recount issues.

Am I correct?

In addition, what else is on the POA to try to get the recounts?

Thank you in advance for bringing me up to speed on what each of us should be doing before our recount hopes die.

1. One might think if you'd "watched for a few months", you'd know the answer

3. Just check out some of the threads...
sign petitions, contribute to recount funds, search for data, analyze data, etc.

Not sure why other posters are being snarky unless I've missed something. :hi:

4. call me paranoid, but
as owner of a web site (theBlatantTruth) I received an e-mail message with basically this same question: what all is being done about the fraudulent results of the election? The more times I read it, the more "bad vibes" I got, that this might be one of "them" fishing for directions to activist web sites, taking a survey to find out the extent of opposition and resistance to the election results, and thus figuring out ways to counter it with actions and spin.

You understand you are posting on an internet message board where even the most innnocent post will be subject to what might seem unfair scrutiny. Please don't take it personally, but I'll tell you what I told the message writer of my e-mail: diligent web surfing (I have many links on my Election 2004 vote fraud page, to begin with), googling, and reading of message boards and forums will get you the info you want.

8. Hey sinnic
I saw your page, thanks for posting it. Thank GOD I'll be 45 soon and will not be subject to the first draft, which looks like it will be medical corps. I'm a nurse, and will cross that age barrier in 8 months.

What they'll do is claim that Iran or Syria attacked us, or some such garbage, then state that the situation has now changed, and they will need to start a draft, in spite of all protestations to the contrary.

It won't be long.

10. yup, like clockwork--or maybe they'll even do it w/out an "attack"
--they think they have a "mandate" (yeah, about as much as Charles Manson had a "man date" with Sharon Tate) to do whatever the %*&#% they want, including enslaving people for their war machine. Glad to hear you're too old to be drafted--at least there is one redeeming feature of aging :) --but my heart goes out to the people who will be victims of BushCo's draft, and their families.

9. There is a lot to be done. Recounts are essential, but so is
securing your local voting systems. Do you know if your town/city/county/state use machines that are known to eat or invent votes? If so, get on your local offials' backs about getting safe machines that the public is allowed to scrutinize.

Beyond that, see what you can do in your town or state to get instant runoff voting implemented. Ranked voting is more likely to give a winner clear majority making recounts less necessary.

More things you can get to work on:
