"STEALING AMERICA: Vote by Vote" brings together dramatic behind-the-scenes stories related to the election of November 2, 2004. The heart of the story is a candid assessment of ways in which privatized election systems, disenfranchisement of certain populations and vulnerable voting technology are impacting our democracy. After a year of intensive shooting, editing and feedback screenings, "STEALING AMERICA: Vote by Vote " is reaching the final stages of production.

Interviewees include poll workers, computer experts, journalists, politicians, voters of all ages and others concerned about reports that certain communities had been targeted for intimidation. We review circumstantial evidence of machine tampering. The film introduces a spectrum of issues, including discrepancies between exit polls and final official tallies, the silence of the media following the election and the impact of technological glitches such as vote flipping.

Our goal is to make this film provocative, but not confrontational. We want to engage viewers who may be uncomfortable looking at what is actually happening to our election system. We do not want them to become defensive when learning the facts. Our goal is to open people's minds to the irregularities in the technology and open their hearts to the devastating impact of disenfranchising voters. The final question that the film poses is: How can we create an election system in which voters have confidence, and in which they can trust that their vote is being counted fairly?

STEALING ELECTIONS: Vote by Vote may be the perfect venue for that hard-to-reach friend, family member, neighbor, co-worker, candidate, or election official who just doesn't get it about our broken elections, politically orchestrated voter suppression, and the perils to our democracy posed by e-voting systems.

DEMOCRACY LOST
Without our votes counted openly, accurately, and verifiably, we lose one of the fundamental tenants of our democracy: a govenment of, by, and for the people. With our election systems compromised and our votes counted in secret, we the people must face the harsh reality that there can be NO CONFIDENCE in our election results, lending no legitimacy to our current or future government.

When is that full-length version of "Votergate" coming out? They changed the title... These aren't the same makers as "Stealing America."

It was first due out last spring. Last I heard, it would be September, as in now? They were hoping for a big release. If it won't be released soon, what's the point? It'll be outdated with all the new stuff to happen in November's trainwreck.
