Does your bank use Diebold ATMs? If so, change banks.
And let them know why. Let's start a revolution that will hurt Diebold where it matters the most.

1. Are there any banks that don't use Diebold?
I think that a majority of ATM's are Diebold.

3. There are a lot of banks that don't use Diebold. Check out your
local ATMs. Many use NCR and there are others.

2. I never use their ATM
BUT, I was there last week putting some papers in my safety deposit box and noted that THE KEY to the box has the word "DIEBOLD" engraved on it! *eek*

4. Do yourself a favor
and DON'T CLOSE the old account until you know you can open a new one. It isn't all that easy to open new accounts anymore. Just a few bounced checks and you are blacklisted for a very long time.

5. No problem as far as I'm concerned
As for me, I've permanently blacklisted banks from my life anyway. I use as small an S&L as I could find and don't want anything more ever to do with any bank after the last two I used screwed me unapologetically.

6. It's not easy to open a bank account? That's news to me.
Bounced checks are not something I worry about.

7. You are fortunate
I've bounced a few in my lifetime, but have been a member of my bank since 1985. Diebold or not (and I don't know) I won't be going anywhere. I can get a car loan by just calling my loan officer. It takes a while to get that kind of relationship.

However, my son was refused a new account because he bounced some checks over a period of five years...maybe five. When he mentioned this to friends, they all had had similar experiences. I can remember "the old days" if your checking account got beyond repair, you just opened a new one. No more. There is a company called Chexsystems that holds the database.

9. MY Mac was down, so, I went to WAWA put my card in, saw the
Diebold insignia and canceled my transaction. I hope that sent enough of a message, because I have absolutely no trust in anything Diebold.

I went home, got a check, and went thru the dive at my bank!

10. Yes and I had a mistake recently
They charged me $3 for checking my balance. I complained and the bank, Washington Mutual, insisted I checked it at a non-WAMU ATM. That was rubbish. I have never used anything but their ATMs since opening the account more than two years ago. They promised a review but the $3 was never refunded to my account.
